No more BT on Fox? You beauty! No more Leon Davis this Leon Davis that, no more endless 'my boy' calls on the likes of Barlow and Prestia flogging a dead horse again and again and again and finally no more bloody 'Football Factory' bullshit.

**** off Collingwood clown.

When was the last time that Sandy called a game of AFL footy, ten years ago? Are we sure he's still got "it"?

Compared to the "quality" of his fellow commentators, he can't be any worse.

Seriously, if McAveney was told to tone down his drooling over Rioli and a couple of others, he can still call the game well. If Commetti was told to stop trying to be a comedian and just call the game, he's as good as anyone.

The worst is McLaughlin though. Can't wait to see his stellar observations next year. His qualification for the job is what exactly???

Why couldn't they get Lloyd instead of Darcy. At least he doesn't talk complete bullshit.

These McLaughlin brother's must know some powerful people ! Is their old man somebody famous ? Where did they come from ? Other than their mother's snatch .

Could be a problem for Dave Hughes - he's contracted to 10 for other shows, yet he's one of the main personalities on Before the Game.

I think you'll find that he has a contract with Rove's production company, not necessarily with 10. Think of how Mick Molloy remained on BTG & yet managed to be on that Sports Panel Crap Show with Eddie on 9 (along with Fitzy). In this day-&-age there are less 'station personalities' (like Eddie) - most shows are packaged up by independent production companies & sold to the various networks. This is how BTG could potentially move stations in its entirety. I would imagine the only sticking point would be that 7 may not want Hughesy to appear on their network, in fear that it may serve as free promotion for the 7pm project (or whatever it might be called now)

that will never happen

My favourite commentators were the 9 crew, JB and BT always added more excitement and energy to the telecast and the special comments of Lyon and Brereton shit on those of Darcy, Harley etc

Also would love Michael christian to get a job as well, he is an old school footy commentator and think he is the best of the TV commentators by a MILE atm

Yep, Channel 7 really have got the dregs this time.

Taylor isn't smart enough to be anything but a poor man's Rex Hunt with an embarrassing arsenal of adjectives.

Malthouse can be a fair and balanced contributor but Darcy is a nothing commentator/special comments person - truly awful. His commentating stints on MMM lacked everything.

Can't see Kirk being any more than a bit player in his first hit out either - here's hoping he provides a different insight.

Yes, you are right about the contract situation. That was sort of what I was thinking of - how could you have one personality successfully dividing himself between two networks? You would likely have both networks being unhappy about the arrangement. It would be interesting if a network wanted to poach a show from a rival and they dictated that a certain cast member couldn't come with the show. It would really test the ethics of the production company. There could be big dollars at stake.

Luke Darcy is so woeful and incompetent that even Dogs fans hate him.

The good news is that all games now live on FTA or Fox i can tune into MMM or SEN to avoid Darcy's obnoxious, no shit sherlock style of special comments

So sad Walls is gone, how are we going to know which struggling forward needs a run in the ruck now??

At least we can still have Darcy telling us how great the dog's list is and how the ruckman is of critical importance in every play in every game.

Situation: Forward lining up for goal

Darcy: "The ruckman is the most important player in this set shot, he needs to not run through the mark. What the forward does is secondary"

I just love the way he goes about it
