It's been a heck of a season, a bees knob between the top 4.
Looking ahead I can't see any big embarrassments coming up in the quality or elims. All strong match ups.

rOUND 24: GeeLOL gave them a close run for their money but in the end the Footscray Welfare finished H&A with well-deserved B2B EOTW wins - something they've never managed before in their entire miserable existence - thaks to beating Geelonk but still missing finals by half a game after their loss to the wooden spooners last week
2023 EOTW winners
Round 1: Failmantle for getting torched by the dwarf burners (for a while this looked not so bad but now it's bad again)
Round 2: Lights out for the Dreamons at the Gabbatoir, early indicator of another straight sets exit (if they make finals)
Round 3: The Handbaggers for losing to Fold Coast, their 3rd loss in a row in their disastrous flag defence #geelolhaveinjuries
Round 4: Richmunt for their shittruck coach’s constant presser meltdowns (you'd alomost think he's on the verge of quitting)
Round 5: Mrs. Twent Cockchin of the Tuggers for going from sub to subbed out - the look on his little face was priceless!
Round 6: DH Dimma for sacrificing a T16ER rookie to avoid taking blame for another loss, it's really time to go now mate
Round 7: 16thmond for their 6.12 under the roof while going down to the Cold Goats, looks like mre chook s**t coming up
Round 8: Carltank for their fans’ 3/4 time exodus AND the AFL for orchestrating the ridiculous response to Buddy BOOgate

Round 15: Meth Coke for redefining how bad a team can be while still having 8 (inconceivable!) premiership players in it
Round 16: Geelonk and their desperate supporters for celebrating a draw and being back in the 8 for less than 24 hours
Round 17: Geelol for celebrating a sub-100 cheat ground win against 17th to go 8th... AND Failmantle for only managing 2 goals to 3/4 time
Round 18: Aints losing to a coachless rabble AND Poort getting smashed by JSOS AND Essendong staging their way to a record loss of some sort
Round 19: Corio for their 1 goal first half which cost them the game and put them back in 8th, teetering on the brink
Round 20: Collolingwood for making Carltank look good by failing to knock them out of finals for the 2nd year running
Round 21: lolpies for going goalless in the opening quarter and losing to a bottom 4 team still at the start of a rebuild
Round 22: GeeLOL for losing even with 26 on their side, sinking to 11th and basically killing off their finals hopes
Round 23: Bullflogs for serving up an all-time bed s**t and losing to the Boogles, possibly costing them a spot in finals
Round 24: Throwdogs for missing finals, not sacking Bevo (yet) and giving their loser fans false hope - again

Please join me know in offering our collective congratulations to the GeeLOL Handbaggers whose waste of a year is redeemed at last by finally winning something: the inaugral Jeff Kennett Embarrassment of the Year award! with a narrow win over Niinthmond
Let's take a look back at how they got here:
Geelonk started the season appallingly, losing their first three games with the most embrassing loss being to Fold Coast, a bottom 4 team who have never played finals - giving the pussies their first EOTW win. The Tuggers then went on an EOTW rampage, including a 3peat, while GeeLOL got their act together briefly before stumbling and losing all confidence against said Tuggers, causing their Bay fans to make a meltdown multitude of excuses ahead of their first loss to Failmantle, earning them their second EOTW. The Bloosers snuck a B2B in before the break but things didn't get any better for the Scats after the bye, struggling to an embarrassing draw with Shitney for their 3rd EOTW win and earning B2B EOTWs for celebrating being shithouse. Despite the abysmal performances piling up, their fans continued to believe a run of games against minnows at their cheat ground still had them in finals contention, before a trip to the Gabbatoir put the knife and another EOTW to them. Even a CoLOLingwood B2B coudn't save Korio as they picked up their 6th EOTW for losing to the very same LOLpies despite a massive umpire carry
Commiserations to Richmunt, the early favourites who slid out of contention, ironically as they did for finals. And kudos for an amazing effort by Wurst Coast to finish as low as 3rd despite fielding the worst AFL team ever. Special mentions also to Carltank and the Purples for squeezing onto the podium
Thanks to everyone who provided their noms and votes throughout the season and worth noting that 4 of the 5 teams on the very crowded EOTY podium missed finals, which just underlines the astuteness of the Bay in sniffing out embarrassing performances - as well as meaning CarLOLton are highly likely to embarrass themselves further come finals
Speaking of finals, by popular demand we will be having a special Finals Edition of EOTW so stay tuned for that (see separate Fred)
