Well deserved. She was already one of the best in the competition. And this year has basically raised her game in every area on top of that.

Personally I think that even her relatively poor disposal efficiency was at times misleading. And half the time those hack kicks out of a contest were the least worst option.

The issue in the past with Marinoff was that even when she got a chance for a clean disposal, it was a turnover half the time. Nowadays she generally nails those kicks.

Yes, against the best opposition she doesn't get as many opportunities and reverts to hack kicks to gain territory. But that's still valuable in its own right.

Thoroughly deserving winner, and she's every chance to end up with another one in the future!

It feels right for her to win an award that Phillips won twice before.
Her season was actually so ridiculously good especially those first 7 weeks that she literally managed to smash down the previous ‘vote blacklist’ door that she and Garner had both been locked behind in previous seasons.

In terms of multiple awards I think it can still go a few ways in the future given what has happened previously in this competition, no denying that less competition in the midfield from Hatchard this season did help given Hatchard’s previous ability to eye-catch those umpires & take lots of votes, so if Hatchard regains form (which the team desperately needs to probably still be around the mark) it probably lowers Marinoff’s chances given previous seasons.

The umpires also could now unfairly judge her future performances based upon the ridiculous high levels she reached in this season which has happened to a couple of previous winners, or if the Crows wins drop off a bit and the work experience umps could start doing that flavour of the month voting again and one of those more ‘eye-catching’ players that are in teams that have lesser quality mids around them could win it again.

After tonight though you can probably rule out Garner winning it over her as she’d likely have to average 40 and kick 3 every game to be half a chance.

It's amazing how often she'll get to a contest outnumbered, win the ball cleanly standing up in the tackle, and force it forward to a different contest 20m further up the ground. Then follow it up by being first there to lay a tackle.

While the commentary team are acting as if that isn't a massive net gain.

I think she has been the clear best player in the comp for the last few years, she is just super consistent every week and deserves the recognition. On a personal level I guess she is fortunate that Hatchard had a pretty poor season by her standards and wasn't taking too many votes from her this year.

Just love Ebony. Had a remarkable season. Actually though I thought she may have got more votes. Anyway my heartiest congratulations to Ebony. She brings so much credit to the club and our sponsors.

Noffy has just picked up the AFLPA MVP and Best Captain and Randall the Most Courageous (which should be named after her at this point). With Shineah Goody winning best first year player, it's another SA clean sweep!

Munyard with goal of the year and Scholz with mark of the year and rising star. Real feather in the cap for SA!

Not making the Grand final aside, has been a pretty successful season when you look at individual accolades. Ebony is a well deserving winner and a tremendous face of the club.

It wouldn't take a lot for the Crows to be playing off in a flag again, the side was very close the last couple of years. I would like to see Clarke do some things differently next year, particularly in the forward line, needs to make the smaller forwards more damaging. Have a look at some Irish prospects, they have been an outside source of strength for other clubs.
