They’re blurring the crap out of definitions here. How is the teacher to student (possibly vice versa depending on the incubation periods) case at Unley High not considered community transmission?
A teacher passing it onto his student is different to a teacher going to the pub or beach and passing it on to others and 7 days later lots of tests coming up positive and health authorities wondering where the **** did these people catch it from.

The big success in South Korea was that there was community spreading somewhat by that church group, but by using all the digital data available to authorities, as South Korea is more digitally advanced society than Oz, they were able to track down many of the people the church group followers passed it on to and isolate them specifically rather than do a blanket shut down.

I actually know people with this attitude and its infuriating.

She’ll be right mate

Heard from a wine contact today two of the US people in the Barossa legged it to Sydney and tried to get back to the US - Arrested.
sucked in to them.

My dad's friend has (had) a brother in-law in Milan. She told him today, that a few days ago he went into hospital with the virus, they put him into intensive care, then 3 days later the family got a knock on the door from the authorities, and they said here is his ashes, inside a small wooden box. he was in his 80's.

His body was taken away from the hospital, no one notified the family, the authorities cremated him straight away as they don't have space in the morgue and can't risk more diseases breaking out. if any of you know Italians, you know how important funerals and having a decent burial plot is for them. The family is heart broken, but this type of activity is happening all over northern and central Italy. Shook my old man who is 89 and in that vulnerable age group.

Anyone breaking quarantine here can be arrested and faces 5 years jail plus up-to $25000 fine

We need to start taking a zero tolerance approach to people who do the wrong thing and wont self isolate.

Start handing out 25K fines and telling people that break isolation (if then testing positive) will spend time in jail, people might start doing the right thing then.

In more depressing news around lack of foresight from our government we have done nothing to increase our local strategic fuel reserve, which remains at around two weeks at best with 70% of our oil still being refined in Singapore, and sourced from the middle east and easily blocked by Iran, Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, India, Malaysia or Indonesia (to name a few) if shit really hits the fan through a general economic collapse and military/ social isolationism/ conflict.

We have purchased reserves in the US but they still have to get here...and if shit hits the fan over there they won't give it to us.

So at any point in time as the world descends into madness and angry, unemployed and malnourished populations rise up around the world we will be well and truly f***ed as everyone starts starving to death when we no longer can move food and goods around.

I’m pleasantly surprised it’s not just shoot on sight considering where you are

It’s different to your scenario but it’s still community transmission though. I mean it’s not as if the student and teacher are both imported cases that are independent from one another. I don’t think it’s helpful to say there’s been no community transmission when there clearly has been because it’ll only serve to make some people underestimate the risks.

Seems to be working here. Dubai is extremely quiet. Seems most people are trying to do the right thing.

They’re saving that for the full lockdown......
Seriously though because of the way things are run here people tend to follow the government “advice” and rules.
