So the problem here is that lies and uninformed opinions predominate and create a completely false narrative around COVID 19.

To be fair, people didn't need to die of covid to count as a covid death either. They needed to have an exposure to it in some capacity and then pass away for any reason.And here is the story in complete context:

The same standard being applied to vaccines isn't entirely unreasonable. Even if most of these people are elderly folk on their way out before they get a needle, their death mattered when it was covid just as it matters when it's the vaccine.

We may have totally misdiagnosed covid.
I now suspect it’s an entirely a new kind of virus that attacks the fear centers of the brain making people hopelessly irrational.
Think about it - it’s the one diagnosis that explains all the phenomena. The more you succumb to fear the more likely you are to get really sick and die.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison is speaking about opening up Australia's borders. He says it's not safe to do so yet, but the government is looking at the next steps.
He says Australians should expect the process to happen gradually not "at the flick of a switch".
"There's a sliding sort of scale here. And we're working on the next steps," he said.
The first step will likely involve vaccinated Australians being able to travel freely across state borders.

Vaccination just to get interstate could well be a catalyst for me to leave Australia when it's finally over. Utterly ridiculous

If I didn't know better I'd think the government actually gave a shit what you did.
