This Virus War reminds me of the war on terror. First, there was al qeida in Afghanistan, then in Iraq, then it became ISIS in Syria and the rest of the middle east
Then it spread with ISIS extremists here and in Europe. What began in NY, went to London, Boston Marathon, Lindt chocolate in Sydney's Martin Place, Marseille, Turin, even Christchurch had a strain. Drum up the fear. COVID is perfect because it is invisible and you can dial up or dial down the PCR test to get any result you want. We are not counting deaths or those with symptoms only cases. Whether they are symptomatic is not even counted.

Procedure? Procedure has changed dozens of times almost . Its not a consistent testing platform in any way. We have consistently seen procedures change to achieve a goal so why not now?

Theres no improvement of knowledge when the science is defined. We knew before this with 100% certainty that the more PCR cycles the more virus you will find. This isnt a knowledge change

In saying that, our "improvement in knowledge" in this situation is non existent. If anything its regressed by the mere fact that our measures were simply not able to be adjusted to changing situations worldwide as we didnt take into account any outward circumstances ie. variations, weather changes, the fact people need to work and eat food and not stay home for 15 months. Honest truth here is everyone sat on there hands, made the situation worse and id say with this level of complete incompetence, it was largely with intent

Add your last point about China. Once this is all coming unstuck and in the open China appear to either be an unwitting pawn or right in the thick of things. So now Victoria has a question to ask itself. Is this mutant super duper fatal highly contagious virus so dangerous we need to shut the state down at all costs or we all die OR Are we actually prepared to destroy ourselves for the sake of a virus? No free money anymore or free ride. As you said in another post we need to own our decisions. By all means lock up save lives. But you won't have anything to come back to.

Somewhere like Bali or India shutting down has literally cost lives due to starvation. Yet no grand roll out there. Whole concept of lockdown is ridiculous. It is a luxury pure and simple. And one at least now in Vic we can't afford.
