Their primary, and often only, concern is profit. There 'inclusive' statements are olive branches to a consumer market which no longer wants much to with regressive mutants.

Watching a giant corp labelled 'left' because of some tweet about gay marriage is falling to a brand of politics which wants identity politics to be litmus test. The tumblr left and Latham/Trump/Abbott right are in this category.

Yep, I avail myself of Exxon's and in particular Ratheon's services frequently.

QANTAS and BHP might be better examples for us from a local point of view.

Imagine being proud of being asexual.

Exhibiting pride in your sexuality is akin to showing pride in your preference for a particular flavor of ice cream.

There's something NQR about making it a significant projection of your persona, when it's due to it being some supposed enhancing point of difference.

It's politically attained absurdity.

Imagine being proud of being asexual.

You can't be proud of your country, because you were just coincidentally born there. You can however be proud of your sexuality, which you were coincidentally born with.

I suppose if you've had to deal with a lot of crap over it all your life and have survived, that's something to be proud of.

If you have trouble with the word "pride", think of it as a shorter way of saying "unashamed of it no matter how many people try to tell me otherwise".

Yeah but what crap have asexuals dealt with. Let's be honest, not being horny would solve a lot of problems for most people.

Survived?

As in Cathy Freeman and her "cos I'm free" tattoo, which she had done after she was liberated from the oppression of the cotton fields via an Athletics Australia scholarship and a fully paid "show up when you can" job at Australia Post?

Please, spare me that exaggerated justifications.

"Shame" is selectively applied.

It's also regularly the outcome of an unjustified neuroses (most sexual political folks).

Cultural marxism doesnt exist, its your imagined boogeyman sorry.

Nothing in the writings of Karl Marx exists in it's truer form today, however it still thrives in the metaphorical sense.

"Cultural" Marxism is one of those metaphors..

In the contemporary setting, a persons sexuality is generally only a problem if they make it one.

There's a sparse handfull of idiots out there, but that's always been the case.

Pardon? Marx wasnt concerned with culture, the right gets Nietzsche confused with Marx. Marx felt bad for women and children in factories but thats about the only times he really concerned himself with a sort of oppressor/oppressed good/evil dynamic we see within the 'discourse' between the proud bois and purple haired ladies on the internet. Nietzsche on the other hand was always banging on about that sort of thing when he was bagging Christian morality.

Marx would have thought the proud bois hating the browns and the purple haired ladies with dry privates are all operating under the same thumb. For him the identity of either are inconsequential and mearly an expression of the pressure from that thumb. I feel like if your average worker earning 35k to 80k grinding actually knew what Marx was into, they wouldnt be so quick to close up shop mentally on his ideas.

What? WTF are the "bourgeoisie" then? A biological phenomenon?
An economic class that owned the means of production, but rather than distributing the wealth generated by that production, horded it, nothing more nothing less. Marx was interested in them as an economic agent, their cultural identity was inconsequential.

His keen interest in post revolutionary france as a case study is the reason for the characterisation of the bourgeoisie.

Yeah what he said.

The Pride thing may well be a (over)compensation for past shame associated with that sexuality. We should be part all of that now, but it seems we are not.

What has Cathy Freeman got to do with it?

The thread is titled "Corporate virtue signalling"

You don't reckon the media have made a buck out of promoting her aboriginality?

Seriously?
So instead of discussing the point at hand - "gay pride" - you decide to attempt to divert back to the thread title and erect a straw man about Aboriginality.
