Went to the Nights vs Calder Cannons Prelim final today and it looked like Cotchin did his ankle. Reports around the ground were that he fractured it.

Will this affect his draft position if he can't make draft camp?

Calder won BTW.

It shouldn't really. He's not getting drafted for just next year, he's getting drafted for the next 10 years. Interesting to see how the recruiters will see it. He still should go in the top few.

Kruezer was ok. Not a very big influence. Doesn't look half as good as Leunberger if you could compare the two.

Cotchin looked very good in the first half, Knights obviously missed him when he came off.

Kreuzer was dissapointing. Disposal wasn't very good, nor was his ruckwork. Opposition sharked most of his taps, and he only got possession around the ground dropping back or when allowed to run free.

Arrowsmith, Joyce, Veszpremi, Stanton, Meredith and Sanfillipino looked very good IMO.

Have you ever actually seen him play? The point is he is a top 3 draft pick in HIS draft, whether or not he was the year before has absolutely no relevance

hurt his ankle very badly earlier on in the year playing for xavier he is only now back to 100% after being out for about 8 weeks not fully fit, a good chance for a rookie spot IMO

knowing richmond's recruiting has been very ordinary, i don't think we should even think about cotchin's injury. who cares? judd was injured at the same time during his draft.
richmond should still take cotchin wheather hes injured or not

If his foot was broken I think that could definitely cause him to slide a bit depending on how bad.

Varcoe slid out of the top 10 a couple of years back because of a busted foot.

I don't know how far he'll fall, but he will fall. I find foot and ankle injuries are harder to ever fully get over than knee and shoulder injuries.

i'm with u on this one. from all sources cotchin is going to be gun player. he's a 6 foot deleido in the making. he's been training with the tigers n has impressed the coaching staff. he'll be our no.2 no doubt.

Varcoe slid out of the top 10 a couple of years back because of a busted foot.

IIRC that was because his injury caused him to miss so much u/18 footy he was unproven at that level and clubs had to pick him on his u/16 which was apparently magical. He didn't slide due to the injury itself. This isn't an issue with Cotchin as clubs are already 100% aware of his quality.

If he does slide it won't be because of his ankle injury IMO.
