So we either have unreliable testing holding up games, or we have a player that's recovered from COVID-19 in 72 hours.
Or we've got a guy with the virus at low levels meaning he's on the threshold for a positive test, doesn't mean he's not contagious, could be asymptomatic.

It’s shambolic whatever it is.. It just goes to show how incapable and unprepared and amateurish our health professionals are in reality. Legitimately miles off it at this point, you could not genuinely have any faith in anything that they advise us on.

Okay - I am in contact with the bloke who has been in charge of EMT's for the last 6 years at the WHO, infact he is doing much up here to give us a pathway out of the morass.

So tell me what you know about shit, and please do not spare the detail.

Yeah actually it doesn’t show anything of the sort.

It's actually a good outcome if McKenna doesn't have it.
We all want and need negative results.
I don't get how him having it because he's an Essendon player is a good thing.
Or that there is some sort of corruption at play if he suddenly didn't have it.

Shambles. Only way to describe it.

It's really not. Have either of you heard of viral load?

With HIV we now have drugs that can suppress the disease to such low levels that it cannot be detected. This means it can't be passed on, there are no symptoms. People can have HIV free babies safely.

Viral load is important for tests like covid19

It's why people can early on test negative. They don't have enough activity to be picked up.

Their immune system may take care of it without to ever being detectable. It may not.

False positives and false negatives can happen, when we are talking about tens of thousyod tests like we are doing in Victoria right now it's going to happen at some point, through human error normally.

But sometimes you test people at the wrong time and they don't get flagged. Sometimes people are outliers and get it mild and move on quickly.

This is not evidence of a shambolic health system with no clue. Though that language is evidence of issues we now have with science and also mistakes which happen.

I, like many others have no faith in the advice, testing and the overall level of understanding or procedural processes that our state government is giving us. I’m not sure what it has to do with your mate or whatever your post was supposed to be about.

There’s a reason we’ve recruited the SA experts in, Mikakos/Sutton and Van Doink have no idea what their doing.

Great news that he doesn’t have it, but how many people have been told the same thing? It’s a novel virus, they’ve never tested for it before so essentially they measure certain antibody levels don’t they? We are supposed to believe that stick that goes up your nose and swabs whatever it swabs is the gold standard? I don’t

You know more about most things than I do, but I do understand what you’re saying. The evidence isn’t there in plain sight because if you or I get tested and it’s positive we just accept it as fact, but due to it being an AFL player there is a microscope under the test and due diligence is actually followed.
