Taiwan has a population of 24 million with 7 deaths - a significant reason behind that success was early border shutdowns and the wearing of masks

Singapore 12 deaths - masks again

countries that have been successful all wear masks, closed borders early and implemented tough shutdowns

seems to have worked

if anyone is to blame here it’s the federal govt - they didn’t shut our borders early enough and in fact the USA was one of the last - absolutely damning.

Yep correct.. I had some Breaky in a cafe in Thornbury this morning which is obviously as liberal as any inner city burb and the barista and I were having a good chat.. his words “This is what happens when a Fwit is running the state”.. It’s the real world.

You have a lot of stories of people you randomly meet in car parks, cafes etc that just somehow have opinions aligned with yours. Do you search for them or are you one of those pests that strike up awkward conversation and the other person spends 5 minutes trying to get away from the creepy opinionated guy?

Problem is 2022 is a long way off. They will do the usual political trick of swapping leaders before the next election and the new leader will say 'nothing to do with me'.

Dude we are 2 rounds into what is a 12 round bout. There’s no covid vaccine, there’s no treatments. I’ve got mates who work in government and they know that is reality for at least the next 12-18 months, and economically 3-5 years. There will be more **** ups at state and federal level, there will be more waves, there will be ups and downs. Other states will have their turn. You’ll have probably forgotten about the quarantine security situation in 3 years.

My heart of hearts tells me that if the premier said "There is a very real probability that IF YOU ATTEND THE RALLY YOU WILL BE FINED as per my instructions to the Police Commissioner" then that would have deterred people, further to that, when people started to congregate it should have been followed through with and fines should have been issued. The whole thing was a farce, most people have no idea what they are actually marching for, it's a follow the leader mentality and a chance for many of societies misfits and outcasts to feel like they belong to something. Reality is, a large % of those who attended are stains to society who bleed taxpayers dry.

So your issue Isn’t demonstrating per say, it’s more about the nature of the protest. If the protest was about job losses, that would’ve been okay, would it?
