Some but not all. The NSW delta outbreak stemmed from an overseas arrival passing on to a dumbarse unvaxxed driver. One would hope the Feds have made that mandatory.

Yep. It lowers your chances of getting it, passing it and how sick you get (I am yet to hear a report on someone with both doses in hospital or ICU)
Vaccines are how we get covid beaten down to a level where it actually is "just the flu" and we go on with our normal lives

True. You can be asymptomatic and still pass it on. That is why vaxx should be 100% of the popln and compulsory with evaders gaoled until they are dabbed and jabbed.

First Dose knocked me out for 2 days
and the 2nd Dose is meant to be even more brutal.
I've got 13 days till my 2nd with is 12 weeks , never had a problem , just went and had a couple of frothies . A couple of mates were crook the next day , but have had the 2nd without a problem and that was the AZ
AZ 2nd dose is fine apparently. Its 2nd dose Phizer that ****s you up
Hazzard was disgraceful when questioned today , wouldn't let Chant answer . Sadly there could be up to 900 cases a day by the end of August , Gladys is endangering the rest of us .
How's the campaigner that travelled up to Byron, while symptomatic and hasn't check in anywhere. If any vulnerable are infected and die because of this selfish prick and it can be proven it was him that infected them, he should be jailed for manslaughter.
Byron Bay is the capital of conspiracy theories in Australia. It has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country with only 69.4 per cent of children under the age of two fully immunised in 2020/21.

I am an old fella so I can remember very clearly when HIV/AIDS hit 35 years or so ago. I knew a few gay blokes that died and others that with Pennington and Ita Buttrose FFS established best practice in Australiia and the World and prevention.
It was actually quite remarkable. Australia showed great maturity and public health cleverness on how that scourge was tackled. Beyond some mainly religious nutjobs, communities across the country (inc their gay members) did a great job.
I can still recall reading (as I had to do as part of my job) an edition of The Plumbers and Gasfitters Union rag. On the front page there were calmly presented facts about what was known to their members and a sidebar article titled "Advice to our gay members" which was about safe sex.
I really wonder how our response these past 18 months stacks up against what happened 3 and a half decades ago.

I'm not fussed anymore if antivaxxers don't get the vaccine, they'll be the ones who suffer significant consequences once they contract covid. The only thing that angers me is health staff/frontline staff who need to deal with these ****wits. I hope if a person is unvaccinated by choice then they pay more tax or something as punishment for extra burden placed on healthcare.

Everyone is focusing on suppression and vaccination. The cocktail of remedies in treatment were introduced in USA in Dec last year. That was the stuff Trump took that enabled him to jump on a plane 3 days after contracting the virus and totally free of the virus. In short it was totally effective. Here we are in Aust 9 months later and to my knowledge no attempt to introduce nor approve those measures. That is utter incompetence. As soon as it was approved in USA it ought have been fast tracked here. Instead we are debating lockdown science and vaccination rates. Stupidity. People are still dying and shouldn't be.
I still totally blame the Gov for allowing flights in from India
