They're not burying banjos - they're a form of currency. A special one with radioactive strings will have been on-traded 15 times and ended up in outback Queensland - the true home of banjo playing - by the time a missing persons report has been filled.
Route to outback Qld goes like this - Trentham > Frankston > Walter's house > Werribee > Dallas > Adelaide > Coober Pedy > a yacht > Bondi > Byron Bay > Tenant Creek > Qld

The Werribee to Dallas link seems a bit tenuous. Are people from Werribee were allowed passports.
Passports completely redundant in this game - surprised you even brought it up

Lazy. Not even an attempt to hide it.

Gisborne area - v close to .. yes Trentham East
I remember that story - surprisingly Bullengarook, where I grew up, doesn't make the news very often. The real tragedy in terms of body disposal is that it is actually not that far to the fire tracks that I was originally referring to. They used a much busier dirt track which gets heaps more dirt bikes and nearby traffic from the local tip, plus they didn't bother with a shallow grave. Just lazy.

Be wary of anyone who offers to take you out for a spot of fishing. One of my favorite TV body disposals.

Re-watched Blue Murder late last year (Netflix?). No shortage of memorable scenes, Ned's pub lunch after a bloke keeps knocking his drink being one of the more evocative.

I used to ride trailbikes on those tracks all the time.

In fact, a mate and me were out on a trek (by foot) to meet 2 girls at a house the night of that murder and walked right past the Gisborne end of Hobbs Road.

Poor old Bernie wasn't as lucky as we both were!

Every time I see parts of the movie, Stand by me - I'm reminded of that murder. I was about the same age as the kids from the movie and I think every kid in Bullengarook did the ghoulish trek out to the taped off area where the body was found. Hoping to find a bullet or a piece of clothing with some blood on - or god knows what we were looking for - a bit of excitement I suppose.

Could have stayed home and played the banjo!
Did those who drove out shoot up road signs on the way?

Quite a few posters here enjoy a nice grill - is that right jathanas?
