You're taking instruction from arSwipe? Why don't you just kneecap yourself instead?

He has taken me under his wing with some well-aimed advice, basically told me to stop being so bloody soft and start running further between projectile vomits and bouts of severe dehydration. It’s working wonders.

Seriously though I’ve never had any coaching and am open to advice that sounds more the tried-and-true and not so fad-y. Don’t want Pete Evans telling me to do naked fartleks to cleanse my aura…

10 @ sub 4:30 is very good pace brother (even if it means you have to accept help from Swipey to achieve this noble goal).

Well it’s a goal, anyway. If I can do 4:22 pace for 5km, 4:30 for 10km might be a bit optimistic but I’m still always improving!

It's ok. Forget about JB1975

He isn't one of my special ones and can't cope with rejection.

JB1975 is still reeling from being rejected by his pair of gangster pants. I am not sure he can take any more

Guessing being rejected by an inanimate object would be upsetting. Shame on BF for not having a Ralph Fiennes In Bruges "inanimate object" GIF.

God I love that movie.

"In Bruges" - underrated gem. I've never been a fan of Farrell, especially since the hack-job on Alexander the Great but he was outstanding in this movie.

I do tend to collect my many hurts, gathering them like stamps of the world.

I received an 'E.T.' t-shirt in the Christmas of 1982. It showed the famous silhouette of the boy and his bike flying across the moon, and I loved it, ripped off what I was wearing and wore it to my family Christmas.

Spotting my evident pride, I was deflated when my uncle told me that 'ET is for f***ing ****tahs'. I didn't really understand the implications of this, but I simply realised that I wasn't as fabulous as I'd thought.

I was, I remain, utterly crushed.

BTW that GIF is from The grand Budapest Hotel, which I loved as well. So good.

Excellent taste you have. Wes Anderson has another coming, apparently called Asteroid City, and it sounds good.

Good news. I do note that your Framed success with animated films has me worried.

Only the highly regarded Studio Ghibli ones… and maybe Up and Big Hero 6 because I have three kids who aren’t teenagers yet.

You’d do well to observe that I nailed Interstellar on the first guess. Nolan is my jam. Prefer Inception though.

Love The Godfather trilogy and Wes Anderson, Woody Allen etc. so not wedded to one genre.

The main attraction of the anime movies is that they are wildly imaginative, and not bound by the typical credulity of American audiences. Mainstream shit for that age is so predictable. But you still get voice acting by Billy Crystal, Christian Bale, Emily Mortimer etc. for the Western releases because they’re bloody good quality.

I took my kids to see Demonslayer a couple of years ago. Bloody awful.

Seeing you're taking advice. My advice is that the best way of reducing your times is to run faster.

I was keen to stay up and watch it, but at 12:40 am I needed my ugly sleep.
The next few months are brutal. US Open this weekend alongside the swimming Worlds starting off. Tour De France/Wimbledon in a fortnight into Athletics world champs. Will probably need to get Covid so I can isolate properly.

That’s old-school thinking. The best way to reduce your times is to only attempt really short distances. Like 30cm. And you feel fresher afterwards, and your shoes last heaps longer.
