Whinge on John: (but the facts of the matter state)

Collingwood left VP in 1999 but even prior to that, their games against the Sydney Swans were lopsided in favour of the NSW team.

The Swans last played at VP in 1995, then followed 3 seasons of Sydney home games against the Pies at the SCG, they then played at the MCG in 1998 before another 3 seasons of single home games for the Swans against the Pies in Sydney. You'll note that during this time there were no "return fixtures" where the Swans flew south to take on the Pies. This set the precedent for the majority of the next twenty years....except when
The Magpies then had 3 seasons of “home fixtures” against Sydney though 2 of those were held at Telstra Dome

but from 2003:

Sydney has had 23 home fixtures against Collingwood whilst the Pies have had 11 (5 of which were at Telstra and one at the Gabba)

So all in all, since the MCG became Collingwood’s home ground they’ve played the Swans there a total of 7 times (one of which was a final, 2007) whilst the Swans have hosted the Pies 23 times (2 of which have been finals)

Whinge John whinge!

I find this absolutely nonsense. They're professional athletes that are what to mentally weak to want to play for us because they want to be cuddled their whole career? We have had many players under the spotlight for years and they keep performing just like in other sports. Look at Coxy for crying out loud!! Look at Messi and Ronaldo the most eyes on them ever with half the world's population wanting them to fail and they give it to them every chance they get. Hasn't affected them once. Same with tennis players for which it's harder as it's an individual sport but they keep producing for example Djokovic who half the world hates because of his vaccine stance/fight. Guess what he didn't drop off and let it get to him he used it as motivation. Playing for Collingwood in front of 60k most weeks is an absolute luxury and we at Collingwood don't need weak minded individuals as they get you to where Carlton has been for the last couple of decades. We are a fighting club, we get more hate than everyone else, make the most grand finals have the most heartbreaks and we get back up and go again. That's our culture and If you can't fit into that than maybe go play for a North Melbourne.
Say & think what you like, but players have different personalities. Some like Ginni love the spotlight & attention from the media.

Others like Dusty & Buddy hated speaking in public & never did media.

Others wouldn't like the attention of a big club & all that it brings, including the big supporter base.

Others may thrive on attention, no matter what type of attention it is.

They're not robots. Everyone deals with things differently. No personality type is any better than anyone else. They're just different.

You have no clue what other things players (or anyone for that matter) are going through behind the scenes.

There's nothing mentally weak about acknowledging how you are feeling.

Obviously Longmire wants to maintain home umpiring, but besides Collingwood why is McRae being singled out in the media for his comments?

The Scott’s and Hardwick often run their mouth, but don’t cop a media criticism agenda.

McRae said he “overstepped the mark”.

Sly work, Fly… I like it.
Idiots in media have fallen into thinking he’s admitted the comments were wrong, but from what I’ve heard he didn’t retract them.

maybe Fly should reference the home ground umpiring in the 2022 Prelim. A week later, they ruined another Grand Final as a spectacle.
