Things that are more likely than a Redbacks Shield win:

* Donald Trump being named the world's most popular leader.
* Steve Smith being dropped for the Gabba Test.
* Ken Hinkley becoming a premiership coach.

Not sure about the last one, but.......

Also the Suns winning an AFL premiership will happen before SA wins the Shield.

Dave Warner did what we all know Dave Warner would do- get back to Australia, make runs and get picked in the Test side. Like many other Australian batsmen Warner's problems start once he gets off of the hard bouncy Australian wickets. Put them against quality bowlers on turners in India or low slow wickets in England and most of them struggle.

Whoops didn't see that.

I was going to say Paine is selfishly wasting time trying to score his ton instead of getting WA back in to try and get a result, but Matthew Wade is actually the captain - it would be to much of a shit bloke act even for Wade to declare when Paine was in the 90s :D

This from Victorian Captain Peter Handscomb,

"We were trying to get a game going. We thought 350 off 80 overs was going to be a fair target to chase and they weren't having it. That was it we couldn't come to an agreement on a pretty flat wicket."
"I'm just annoyed the game is dead. I've got to put my bowlers back out there for time on feet for a pointless game. We as we could have been competing for something tomorrow."

Fair suck of the sav guys, Victoria were quite prepared to pile on the runs in their first dig now they complain because the opposition do the same. If the Bushrangers wanted a game they could have declared at 450 sometime on day two. Why is it up to the opposition to make a game of it if they won't? As for being forced to 'put your bowlers back out there', the Vics were not too worried about the SA bowlers on the first and second day. It sounds like sour grapes from someone who thought 6/616 was going to be a comfortable innings win.

Maybe the Bushrangers bitching would be better directed at the curator who consistently prepares concrete roads at Junction Oval and the VCA who contiue to schedule first class matches there?

Was just going to post this same thing. He’s happy to bat for 150 overs but not so happy for SA to bat 137.

Carey scores a great 117 off 115 balls and 22 boundaries and a six, to help get SA out of the shit, Paine under pressure to keep his spot as captain and even keeper in the national side, scores his 2nd ever 100 in first class cricket, and first (a couple of weeks shy) in 13 years.

What is more Justin Langer says, 'Tim Paine is doing a brilliant job at the moment.' Coughing up a series win by putting the opposition in twice in the same series, getting the DRS wrong on several occasions and openly admitting you cannot read a pitch before you toss the coin is hardly a ringing endorsement for any Captain. Some times Justin should just STFU.

That's just code for "we weren't expecting a SA fightback and fully expected to bowl them out twice"

Just goes to show Boof was a far better coach than langer ever will be.

Travis Head showed the Vics more mercy than I would have. He declared at 6/671 half an hour before tea and the game was called a draw. I would have batted on to 700 just to create a bragging point.

Well done Tom Cooper 271 n.o. and Man of the Match.
Well done Tom Andrews on a maiden ton.
