Some great fielding by UAE and a hat trick. The Lankans will want to pull the finger out.

6/35 from last 5.2 overs decelerating the run rate could be costly getting through to the next stage, even if the Sri Lankans win.

How long have the Redbacks been bottom for? Is it 10 years at least? They are the worst performed team in the country of any sport at a State level aren’t they? What the * is going on for the cricket gurus on here?
We came 2nd a few years back, flogged both times by Victoria in the finals.

Haven't one a 7 team shield comp since '97 I believe.

It's South Adelaide style success.

An uncompetitive UAE dampened things a bit last night but I'm genuinely looking forward to both games today. Although I fear Ireland vs Scotland may end up a close but low-quality scrappy grind like Namibia vs Netherlands yesterday.

West Indies vs Zimbabwe should be a cracker though. On form, the elimination of the Windies would probably be considered the more likely outcome.

They need half as many district teams to improve the quality of our local comp, and therefore develop better players for the red backs.
But the district teams don't want to do mergers, too proud and stupid, and so south Australia doesn't develop as many first class level players as we should.

This is the last year of that though isn't it?

Next season it's splitting in a 5 div 1 and 6 div 2?

Which would be a shock as Windies are currently the only multiple winner of the cup.

Exactly... we need a higher level district competition with less teams... or we will remain at the bottom.

The SACA lack balls though.

They seem to have dug themselves into a deep hole currently though.

Elimination is mathematically impossible tonight though thanks to Ireland's win.
It's one of their worst looking T20 teams.

Correct, around two diva but I'm not sure of exact numbers but there will be two divs

In my opinion that plan doesn't improve the quality of competition as the playing pool is still diluted.

They need actually merge clubs and make competition within each club so if you are playing a grade you are a decent cricketer.
