Maybe they though Kane was only coming on the weekend
I don't drink that much. ;)

Only had 1 beer on Friday as had a wine club Xmas session in the evening.

So didn't impact me, but the line up was crazy so they didn't allow for 50K+ crowd.

I'll go to a few football games a year and I kinda don't like drinking beer out of plastic cups. I get why they do it because dickheads and glass just don't mix but you pay a premium price for the product, I want it in glass. I usually end up just buying a bottle of water or lemon squash because of it.

I do find it funny when you go overseas and you go to a sporting event, get a beer and it is in a glass bottle or glass and you feel a bit...I dunno, weird like "hey you can't serve it in this" but then you stop and think of how sad it is that you just can't have nice things here.

Imagine going to the footy and having a premium red, in a glass, filling it back up with the bottle you were allowed to bring back to your seat...it would be nice. Sure, I'd probably get thrown out for yelling something poorly chosen at Murphy come the 4th quarter but up to then it'd be really nice.

Cummins is moderately well-read and educated as far as cricketers go. This has been spun into him being a "woke feminist communist" by the usual crowd and/or the weird Justin Langer cult.
He also supports climate change which i know upsets many.

Wasn't aware of the JL quote. Surprised he was ever coach as about as smart as Nicks.

Short and entertaining > Long and boring

But what am I going to watch on TV tonight?
370 runs and 14 wickets on Day 2 could sometimes take 1.5 days, but not with modern run rates and the increased depth of quality bowlers. SA vs SL is going to a day 5 atm, but these seem to be becoming rarer by the year.

While it would have been nice to still be there today, I got to see high quality bowling, gritty batting on night 1 and then a Trav masterclass on day 2. It's hard to complain when there were so many highlights and the atmosphere was just buzzing the entire time too!

I was still consuming quite a lot of beer very late on day 1 (Western Stand), where did they run out? Lines were shit day 1, but was fixed on day 2 with a bigger crowd.
I don't think they sorted it out as much as a lot of people didn't back up as hard on Day 2.

That and a lot of the members bars that were closed for D1 functions were available on D2

The best bit was having the Magarey Room open.

Langer is a better coach than the guy we currently have.

Siraj and Head both punished.

Boo

Surely there needs to be room for some passion, some fire & brimstone. Emotions spill over when people are playing for keeps.

Fired the crowd up and created the best atmosphere in an Australian summer for years.

No need for a wet blanket penalty to be applied.

Yeah, some theatre is fine as long as it doesn't become hateful.

Siraj was playing to the crowd.

I'd have loved to have seen Siraj give Head a kick in the pants Lillie style as a send off. If you're going for a pantomime villain, go the whole nine yards

The problem is it's the BCCI. They want to do it but have no retaliation. If Head didn't do or say anything I don't think Siraj would have been penalised. The BCCI wanted head punished and the only way to do it was Siraj. It's hideous game play and more people need to speak out against India
