Plays a blinder of a BBL game every now and then.Sean Abbott is a real enigma.
Bad record at ODI level (how has he played so many?), expensive and average at T20/T20I level, nothing special about his FC record
Gets picked in every squad these days somehow?
Absolute joke he was picked for Test squad v Sri Lanka.Sean Abbott is a real enigma.

I did wonder whether we'd be stupid enough to do something like thathuge goodwill/sympathy factor at play
For those thinking the Australian selectors are doing well because we won against India are neglecting we continued to pick Marsh til the last test (impacting on quicks workloads), refused to pick McSweeney in the middle order despite the likes of Marnus struggling & now picked a proven dud fast bowler ahead of plenty of better performers like Bartlett.I did wonder whether we'd be stupid enough to do something like that
has to be the reason. it certainly isn't formI did wonder whether we'd be stupid enough to do something like that
Look, there's things that I've disagreed with - but it's hard to argue with the results. For those thinking the Australian selectors are doing well because we won against India are neglecting we continued to pick Marsh til the last test (impacting on quicks workloads), refused to pick McSweeney in the middle order despite the likes of Marnus struggling & now picked a proven dud fast bowler ahead of plenty of better performers like Bartlett.
They really don't need to make too many changes, yet they usually make far less than they should.
Going to be interesting to see how they manage the transition of players over the next few years.
Royal blue cap is another significant reason.has to be the reason. it certainly isn't form
Hopefully not too bad as the news reports have said if he doesn't come up they may pick Ashton ****ing Agar.Kuhnemann injured his right thumb in the BBL match. Not his bowling hand, but still looked horrific.
He'd have to be "in doubt" for the Sri Lanka tour at the very least.
Id take Rocicisicioli...... or whatever his name is
There's a freeze frame on the cricket subreddit. A bone in his thumb is broken at right angles, possibly with bone exposed.Hopefully not too bad as the news reports have said if he doesn't come up they may pick Ashton ****ing Agar.
I think Agar is a handy T20 player, brilliant in the field but he bowls pies at test level
Would be a big loss as offers us variation.Kuhnemann injured his right thumb in the BBL match. Not his bowling hand, but still looked horrific.

The issue is Lyon & Murphy are both similar.Do we even need another specialist spinner? We have Lyon and Murphy with part time options from Head, McSweeney and Connolly. I would prefer to strengthen are batting with an extra bat.
I would have looked at Labuschange to open against India rather than push McSweeney there .Interesting thought to swap Head & Labuschagne.
Personally I think Head needs to open (for Khawaja) & play McSweeney at #5.

He's definitely missing the tour. He wouldn't be able to bat or field at all, even if his bowling was completely unaffected.
Yes, that would have been a better option.I would have looked at Labuschange to open against India rather than push McSweeney there .
Not on Kayo i gather.Channel 7 will broadcast the Sri Lanka Test series.
Doesnt appear to be no.Not on Kayo i gather.
