Stupid imo.Eeeew, they are playing Inglis over McSweeney
McSweeney offers handy spin option & a better batsman.

If we play 3 spinners, Webster AND Head that probably doesnt come into their thought process.Stupid imo.

Overkill imo.If we play 3 spinners, Webster AND Head that probably doesnt come into their thought process.
I agree, but as I mentioned I reckon we are trying to be too clever.Overkill imo.
Playing McSweeney would allowed us to play Boland.
Quicks have better average than spinners.
Wasn’t it only last year we dropped head because we thought he can’t play on the subcontinentI reckon we're being a bit too clever for our own good.
Same with the 3 spinners.
And then they brought him in and her averaged 50 oddWasn’t it only last year we dropped head because we thought he can’t play on the subcontinent
You might want to put your reading glasses on. This is what it says about Kayo...
So this article implys Kayo have the rights? I can't see it on the schedule
Anyone else ?
It also goes on to say:Please note that this broadcast deal means that unlike the majority of other overseas matches played by Australia, the Sri Lanka tour will NOT be available to watch via Foxtel or streaming partner Kayo Sports.
Seven’s exclusive broadcast rights for the series mean streaming service 7plus is the only place to stream all the action from Sri Lanka.
...
However, unlike with Kayo Sports, there are no rewind or replay options with 7plus, meaning you’re out of luck if you miss some of the action.

sadly I read that twice too.You might want to put your reading glasses on. This is what it says about Kayo...

Not going to lie.Australia has won the toss & decided to bat. Here's our final team:
Khawaja, Head, Labuschagne, Smith, Inglis (debut), Webster, Carey, Starc, Kuhnemann, Lyon, Murphy.
As expected, they've gone with 3 spinners, with Webster the 2nd quick.
This is a very different team to the one which played India. Gone are Cummins (paternity leave), Hazlewoood (inj), Bolland (omit), and Konstas (omit), replaced by Inglis, Kuhnemann & Murphy. The team appears to have been picked on a "horses for courses" basis, but also with an eye to form. Can't say that I see anything to complain about in the lineup.
My only real surprise was seeing Kuhnemann named, so recently after suffering a fairly serious injury to his non-bowling hand. I have no issue with him as a player, I just query the wisdom of bringing a player in while under an injury cloud.
They clearly rate his ability against spin, which is absolutely critical in Sri Lanka. Conversely, there are big doubts over Konstas, who was seriously exposed by India after that blitz in his debut innings. Not going to lie.
That Inglis inclusion is not something I support at all.
I don't have any problem with Head to opener, I think he should stay thereThey clearly rate his ability against spin, which is absolutely critical in Sri Lanka. Conversely, there are big doubts over Konstas, who was seriously exposed by India after that blitz in his debut innings.
They also wanted to move Head up the order, so he wouldn't be coming in against the spinners. He'll now have a chance to open on a flat wicket, and get his eye in before the spinners come on.
Connelly is probably next in line, and he's not there yet.I don't have any problem with Head to opener, I think he should stay there
Inglis is a 29 yr old with. fC average in the mid 30s.
I'd have thought a younger actual batter could have filled the position
Yeah it is, no doubt but he doesn't average 36 over his career because that is sustainable.Connelly is probably next in line, and he's not there yet.
29 is the new 22 these days, so I wouldn't be too excited about Inglis' age.
Inglis has averaged 72.6 from his 3 Shield games this year, which is well and truly up there.
Inglis in.
They finally found a spot for him.
Both Bolland and Konstas should have been selected. The hissy fits from some of the dumber Australian supporters, in the comments published on cricinfo, are hilarious.

There's even one fruitcake getting upset over the non-selection of Bolland!
It's weird, maybe he is Geoff Marsh's love child ?They've had a hard on for him for years.
What i will say is if you're gonna pick him, it has to be now. He was doing very well in the Shield pre BBLIt's weird, maybe he is Geoff Marsh's love child ?
