I've watched every game the blokes ever played at AFL level. That was a below par game from him. Fumbly, slipped over a bunch of times, decided not to kick the ball after qtr time. Normally much cleaner even when he's not bursting out of stoppages.
fair call. but these are the inconsistencies that Oliver simply doesn't have. He always performs. Either good or great. cripps has about 10 a year.

Very ordinary game from Crippa today

Not true at all. His performance in the midfield in the 2nd half went along way to winning us the game. 22 contested possessions. Will likely get coaches votes.

Not as good as last year but not bad by any stretch. I don't think our midfield in general has fired yet. Our other onballers being injured / not playing that well means probably means he hasn't had the freedom he got at times last year.

Guessing you didn't watch the game. 37 of the most useless disposals ive ever seen. Got it and belted it forward without looking probably 20x
Got home just before the power outage and he was pretty dominant in the last from what I saw. Surely had far more of an impact than Cripps did tonight. Not going to sit here arguing for him against a Dees fan though. If they were both sh*t then cool bananas

The whole team was dominat when the game was dead, Brisbane sorta gave up.

Have to admit, been a fan of Cripps but if you slot Oliver into Carlton's midfield right now, you would be seeing an improvement as Oliver doesn't ever quit.

Cripps has been terrible the last fortnight.
If he's carrying an injury, put him up forward and f*ck off Silvagni (David Mensch MKII).
If he's not injured . . . . less focus on Cash Converters and start leading from the front as the multi-million dollar player you supposedly are.

I feel like Cripps is playing even more of an inside role than usual this year whereas Melbourne are trying to free up Clarry a bit more rather than have him at literally every centre bounce.

Cripps’ form to start 2022 was honestly insane but since that dropped a bit after the bye he’s regressed a fraction. I do wonder if we’ve already seen his peak with how battered his body is.

I think he plays through injury a lot, must have a very high pain tolerance. Issue is it’s still obvious he’s significantly hampered on the field.

Afl Coaches Votes:
Cripps: 22 votes, Polled in 3 out of 9 Games.
Oliver: 38 votes, Polled in 8 out of 9 games.

Pre-season, I said I'd tip my hat to Cripps if he can beat Oliver in the coaches votes award. It's still possible but after 9 rounds he's getting killed.

Oliver is just on a whole new level and has been for several years. The goal kicking midfielder tag is also greatly overstated. He's kicked 1 goal for the year.

It's half-time and Cripps is his usual hopeless self.

I've never understood the industry narrative regarding this guy.

But whenever he has an off year, which is at least 3 of the last 4, the injury line is ALWAYS trotted out.

I hope he plays a blinder in the second half and some karma comes my way. I'll be shocked if he (and it) does.
