Disgusted Season 6 GIF by Friends

Advice needed: planning a boys trip to see the Sydney game, how does one go about getting match tickets? It's been a while since I've had to buy games for an interstate match. Do our memberships count for anything?
No they don't.

But it shouldn't be terribly difficult to buy a few tickets. I've done so in the past, Sydney games rarely sell out, especially against other interstate clubs.

How does the cost of providing parking suddenly increase by 50%?

I don't use it, but surely this is the type of thing the ACCC should investigate.

The SMA just want to rort all their consumers.

But hey the VAFL reduced food & drink costs at the MCG & Docklands.

I didnt find the cost of food and drink too much different on Boxing Day TBH

Perhaps different for football.

The VAFL negotiated a reduction in priced for the likes of pies, chips, water, etc at Melbourne venues but not others.

If we are really the AFL, shouldn't they ensure basic catering options are reasonable in all venues?

I think our options are better, the cost however is not.

We have better options in the members for cricket but pretty ordinary for the football imo.

I prefer to eat at home & now only 1 red wine selection which is embarrassing for the wine capital of the world.

Yeah we don't typically eat at the ground, either eat at home if it's a day game or pre game in town if it's an evening or night game.

Don't drink at the ground for footy either, it's just not worth the price when your wife works for a winery

Which winery?

The VRC and MRC have both had fanfare in the last 6 months around cheaper food days. Seems to be an issue over there.

Do Adelaide Oval ever sell pies cheap outside the ground after games? Feel like I haven't even seen that in years (I could be completely wrong and not remembering).

Never seen them selling pies cheap outside after games.

To be honest I didn't even know you could park at the oval for footy. Never really even crossed my mind. Me and the lad always park in the city and walk there and back which is pretty good value if you pre-book.

We do generally eat there though. We're from the country so only get to 3 or so games a year, so it's a bit of a special treat for me to grab a burger and the boy to grab a hotdog and share a bucket of chips. If you were doing it every 2 weeks I can imagine it'd lose its appeal rather soon.

I'm grateful for the Footy Express... which is quicker than driving.

Feel for those who come from further out & need to use the car park.

The Melbourne street car park is free.

No one needs to use the car park unless they have mobility issues.

If not, then with free public transport, there’s no reason to drive in and park on the grounds.
How about those who come from country areas?

Agree with those in metro areas.

Yeah we're from Murray Bridge so gotta do what we gotta do. They do do a bus from here but it's so slow (and you still have to pay to get to Mt Barker anyway). Much prefer being in charge of it ourselves.

We park at a Wilson Park on North Terrace. As long as I remember to prebook a day or two ahead it's something like $6-8 total, depending on the day and time of the game. About a 20 minute walk and we're there. The kid's always bursting with energy (even still after night games) and I sit all day at work so enjoy the movement. Looks to be about the same distance as the Melbourne St one, but is more on the right side of town for us heading back South.

We always cut through that Torrens Parade Ground on the way there and back. Some days they are open for parking and sometimes not. Seems like a prime spot but no idea ahead of time if they'll be an option or not.

There’s parking in the city and park and rides out of the city.

I catch a train to games. If I was in the country I’d much prefer to drive to the closest station and hop on a train to town rather than navigate traffic into the ground.

Melbourne St would be similar distance, but free. Plenty of places to eat too, including Lion. Getting out is easy as Bundy, then the Princes Highway ring route to freeway.

A lot of disabled parking permit holders park on the grass at the northern end

Its just an easier walk for those of us compromised by a long walk

I hope its not aimed at those parkers
