How can the AFL move gather round given every game sells out.

They make a motza with the clubs.

Most interstate supporters who come want to come back as awesome weekend.
Surely they’re better off just making another one in another state?

based on the consistent breaking of the rules and how unnoticeable it really is, should players simply be able to openly pursue their opportunities. Teams may not like it, but honestly you cant tell me Danger wasnt in weekly discussions with Geelong in 2015, Lever was gone to Melbourne well before our GF, so was Cameron. They both managed to stay. Really it just seems like the old traditionals who struggle to understand the professional era who made it a challenge.

I'd call for sanctions to be applied to St Kilda, but it's St Kilda, no one is actually agreeing to sign with them.
I think the only fair rule would be if found to have contacted players online then you have to give that players team, your player number 7

Mathew Clarke has announced this will be his final season coaching the woman's team

Thank you Matthew

Cant deny the impact he made to the Womens game

We both are. I agree with you.
I wonder how he came across us.
He was introduced by James McCann, a comedian (who seems to have become part of Gillis' entourage) who's a Crows nuff. I think there's a clip somewhere out there of Gillis wearing a Crowject cap.

He’s not the brightest spark, was he worried someone had hacked his phone or other devices? There’d be dozens of these discussions going on throughout every season. It was reported at the time that Saints had made a large offer. Rory was in the press saying the AFL should introduce a retention bonus that helped players remain at their clubs. But Batman and his burner account.

Can you advise exactly which rule is being broken when players or managers talk to clubs during the season. Don’t just say it’s against the rules, either paste it in or reference the document and the clause.

Lever was meeting with other teams nearly every interstate trip we went on in 2017.

I don't have any issues with players meeting other clubs during a season.

Happens in almost every other big professional sport in the world. Should the captain be doing it, and what's more getting caught ?? Probably not.

But it happens, Oscars press conference was awful.

honestly i dont give a shit. but clearly everyone seems to get offended over it. Being literal about it is kind of not even getting the point.

There is no rule in place

The AFL has considered bringing in anti-tampering rules like some US sports that outright ban it but haven't and I don't think will.

From memory they advise discretion and used words like "optics" when Geelong met with Boak. But that's where it ends and if anything I reckon they've softened their stance since free agency came in.
