I hate being so heavily favorites in this game ......would make anything other than a convincing win an absolute disaster .....and lead to a real bummer of a weekend
Makes me nervous I just remembered 10years ago when the crows were flying with Neil Craig and the Tigers were just playing keepings off the whole game very frustrating that Ross Lyon could just pull something similar with ultra defensive game plan

More to the point the SMA said last night that the whole pitch will be ropped off. So not sure what the angst is.
Sorry ....but who cares !!!! ......i worry about Crows first, AFL 2nd, and no regard for Soccer ......does the SMA worry about the Crows when they put on a rock concert at Adelaide oval a few days b4 the Crows play .....nope

I'm sure 4-10 year old kids having a kick is really going to rip the surface up  ......oh hang on, what about the 44 AFL players that have just played an AFL game for two hours ....so which group will do the most damage to the surface

FFS get real about the kids kick to kick .....and bring it on :thumbsu:

Biggest disappointments i've had in footy have been losses when being un-bankable favorites .......we get angry after any loss, but can't describe how i feel after these type of losses

Really hoping our boys realise the threat here

Crows please don't let your guard down this is a very winnable game but also give respect to your opponent cause nothing is a given unless we are heavy favourites ;)

Big difference going 4-2 and percentage increase .....rather than 3-3, and getting stuck in the pack of other teams

Ignorant comments. Its a ****ing grand final and we should be doing everything we can to protect the Reds interest. The kick to kick can be changed to next week.

As to who cares? 40 000 reds fans including myself and many other crows members.

I hate being stuck in the pack but it's only going to get better we got beaten down the wire by the best team(Roos) and against the umpires (Hawks)
Great performances ...but still losses that could count against us if a top 4 position were in the offering

It can't though. They don't do kick to kick during night games and the Crows have a lot of them. They asked the SMA manager on 5AA last night why didn't they just move it and that was the reason. No real other opportunities.....

They are protecting the soccer pitch though and barricading it off

I don't give a rats toss as a Melbourne based Crows supporter who has zero point zero interest in Soccer ......i'm sure they feel the same about AFL

 Are they playing the game in the centre square? .......last i heard there's no more cricket pitch's that can get churned up .......so can anyone tell me the benefit of roping off the centre square for the Soccer game ?? .......my bet is it's more to protect the area for AFL

Me too WW. Your points are valid re the surface. But if anything can help then I am there.

Listening to 5aa at the start and them lamenting the lack of Trophies in SA at the moment. If not having a kick to kick after is what it takes to put some silverware in SAs cabinet then I am all for it.FFS I want to win something :D

A year or two ago they wanted us to move an AFL game to allow a soccer match to take place. Yeah, we could play at Hindmarsh or Thebby. o_O
This is an outfit that has vowed to knock the AFL off its perch as the number 1 ball sport in this state.

So the kids will do more damage to the surface than 44 AFL Players over two hours ??

So for those of us not in Adelaide, has there not been any rain today nor will there be any before tomorrow night?

Ie are we looking at fine conditions for the game?
I'm about 5km from Adelaide Oval, and I can tell you it looks great outside this morning on game day. Bright, sunny and clear, I can't even see a single cloud in the sky.

Exactly ......when did it become a priority to look after the interest of other sports ...to the detriment of fan engagement at our own club

This is the confidence I am afraid of with our supporters. I guess with games like this in the past we have crumbled and hid away in our shadows to allow the opposition to get the W
Freo's back is against the wall this week and will come out with a hard edge, apart from the main absentees it's the same Freo side that knocked us off same game last year. Confident of winning the contest but not too confident that we'll win by 10+ goals

What you mean apart from Fyfe ands Sandi, who were the best 2 Dockers in that game?

Yes, we're missing Dangerfield, but we seem to have covered his loss fairly well so far. The Dockers, on the other hand, have gone backwards at a rate of knots.

So is the high scoring, entertaining football finished? Coaches needed 5 weeks to figure it out?

Yep, turns out the way to stop high-scoring teams is to make sure their disposal is so shit that they keep kicking it to the opposition when trying to hit a target in the forward half of the ground.

Unfortunately both teams seemed to figure this out at the exact same time.
