A lot can obviously change from now until seasons end however as the ladder stands now the finals games would be the following
QF 1 Adelaide v Richmond in Adelaide
QF 2 Geelong v GWS in geelong*
EF 1 Port v Essendon in Adelaide
EF 2 Sydney v Melbourne in Sydney

A couple of interesting points with this first week of match ups, you'd have 3 clear cut favorites with probably only Port v essendon seen as one that could go either way.
Another interesting point would be if they played cats v Giants in geelong which would be likely you'd have no games in Melbourne in the first week. Don't think that's ever happened before.
Anyway sure it will change a few times before September but I don't think this first week would have many football fans besides the competiting clubs really excited about the match ups.

Most likely, personally I want to see the tigers push to 3rd or 2nd to avoid the crows in Adelaide.
I get where your coming from, and I think everyone wants to finish top 2 and get a home QF. I do think trying to avoid matchups is the wrong attitude though. I think the club and supporters have to go into finals with an "anywhere anytime" attitude. You cant win a flag without beating the best teams.
Historically finals dont deliver the same home advantage as H/A games. I think that's because the motivational difference for the home team isn't there, and both teams are desperate to win. For all of the talk about differences in playing surfaces and dimensions, they are very minor.
Travel at short notice a challenge for supporters, but what happens, happens for me.
Playing the Crows anywhere will be hard but I wouldn't begrudge their supporters a home final if they earn it, and they probably will. Nor the Cats or Richmond for that matter.

I'm just speaking as a supporter, I'm sure the team would be happy to play anyone anywhere however as a tigers fan I have bad memories of a final in Adelaide and would obviously prefer to play at the mcg.

I get a home QF at the G would be a great day for your club, and I think it's within reach.

Port at home would be very tough, That rowdy crowd.
Given the bath we gave them this year, port would be the team I'd like to face week 1.
id rather take the cats or tigers on at the g than Adelaide or GWS away from there
So cats lose to GWS, we play them at the G then get Richmond in a prelim at the G.
Happy to then face GWS at the G on GF day given they have one win there - against Melbourne when GWS were bottom of the ladder

I wouldn't read too much into our record at the G. We've had one game there the last two years. The Richmond loss last week has significance and wasn't good, but not really for those reasons in my view.
Otherwise fair enough.

Let's focus on a winning a final let alone making one before we talk grand finals.

Dees v Richmond would be wonderful.

Would be spewing if we drew Sydney @ SCG for our first final in 11 years
Same.

Having said that, anyone who draws Sydney is getting the short stick.

For that reason, I'd love to take GWS on in a GF before any other team.
As per my post above, I'm not confident we make it yet

Nahhh...we'll be buggered by then.
Wouldnt worry about us.

Adelaide, which would be in Adelaide. If we wished to avoid a finals matchup that would be it. A genuine 50/50 game right now and many already looking fwd to a massive game in a months time.
We've got Hawthorn at MCG, Geelong at the Cattery, Adelaide in Adelaide to come yet. Some might think thats tuff, but its great for us going into finals even if we drop a couple. Tougher the better.
You dont improve playing shit mobs with an easy draw...especially in August.
