On Reddit the board "Today I Learned" is riddled with stories like these. Just amazing she is still kicking it on the mountain.
Insert "forever alone" meme here.Just think of all the people/families/groups that are living in isolation atm, but have yet to be found!
Sad as it is, Ive taught 16 year olds who havent heard of WWII...
while sitting on the can!She will never know the pleasure of using an iPad.
Same as people who don't have a clue on things like the Cuban Missile Crisis. Mind boggling.Sad as it is, Ive taught 16 year olds who havent heard of WWII...
I guess is similar to the way they kept finding Japanese soldiers in the 60s and 70s on pacific island who were convinced that WW2 was still going.while sitting on the can!
incredible story. really do wonder how many people are living in complete isolation like this?
Anywhere on earth? There's most of Australia for a start!Unbelievable. I wouldn’t have even thought there was anywhere on earth where there’s 150-odd miles without civilisation. Is that stupid?

The North/South Poles. The way I read it, there was no humans whatsoever for 150-odd miles in any direction. Would that be the case in Australia?
Given I’ve only been on roads, but there’s roadhouses, indigenous settlements and farms everywhere.
