yarra valley too good for the hoer magpies.

yarra first to the footy and much better with it in the 1st qtr and built a lead that Inavhoe never seriously challenged.

was some good footy played, unfortunately not enough from the hoes.

gunna need to win them all from here in, but if you wanna play finals you gotta win to get there!

Just looking at the draw........ If the Hoes lose this week against St Johns and other results fall a certain way (quite possible way actually!), then the Hoes can slip down the ladder to 9th!!!!!!! Need to finish the year strongly if we wanna play finals.....

See on the tribunal results Mr Foster from Powerhouse got 6 Weeks. Perhaps Redgum can fill us in? 6 is a big penalty! Must have thrown the sink as well?

Wasn't at tribunal and didn't see the incident on the day.

I did see our guy hit the ground, I did see the size of the split lip (stitches I reckon) and I did see that concussed lack of focus in his eyes.

Having spoken to those who did see it close up 6 weeks didn't surprise me.

Just a couple of weeks remaining for the majority of clubs but still plenty of interest in who will join Kew and St Francis in mothballs. So for this week, again with a couple of eight-pointers:

UHS-VU vs Power House. The western students need to keep winning for a finals berth and should end the Powers thoughts of the same.
Yarra Valley vs La Trobe University. A nice little trip for the students could end the wine makers finals chances.
Elsternwick vs Albert Park. A big gap on the ladder won't be reflected in the scoreboard.
Ivanhoe vs St Johns. The Magpies have been hot and cold but can spring abig surprise at home and keep their finals hopes alive.
West Brunswick
vs Kew. The West boys will slam the door shut on any lingering relegation fears.
Hawthorn
vs St Francis Xavier. A big win required by the Hawks to keep in the finals hunt.

"Elsternwick vs Albert Park. A big gap on the ladder won't be reflected in the scoreboard."

I did not realise that 3rd Vs 4th was a big gap......

A few upsets on the weekend has made for an enthralling final 3 weeks in Division 3. 6 teams all on 32 points vying for 2 spots!
Hopefully the Hoes can get back on the winner's list next weekend after a very tough month. We played St Johns yesterday (by the way, they are a very good side), and with a very undermanned and young side we gave them a good contest all day. 50 pts doesn't reflect how close a game it actually was.

Agreed Buddy. St Johns are the best team going around and although they were too good, a 5 goal result would have been a more accurate reflection of the game.

Our best effort of the year. If we bring that effort to the table for the rest of the year, we'll win more than we lose.

ROUND 15.

LaTrobe v Yarra Valley. Can the bushrangers reverse the trend so far this season? Dunno. An 8 point game this week. I'll go with the home side with some lingering doubt.
StJohns visit Ivanhoe. Can't see the visitors loosing this one. The Joccas have a busy schedule up to round 18 and won't want a form drop.
Elsternwick welcome Albert Park for a rematch and the Tom Brain cup. Wickers will want to prise the trophy from the Falcons' claws. So much to play for.
Nikko's mates host Power House. The canteen and bar are probably ready, but are the Vultures? They'd want to be. Season on the line right now. I'll give 'em the nod.

West Brunswick v Kew. Can't see the Bears getting up for this one.
Hawthorn v SFX. Last weeks game is but a memory. Can the Beaky boys go two up? Sadly no.But I expect a close fought game.[/quote]

Review round 15.
The home teams won.

Preview round 16.
This week StJohns host YVOB at Thomas Carroll res.
Same away result for the bushies.

LaTrobe host Hawthorn. 2nd host 5th. Brief trip to the five for the hawks.

Elsternwick host UHS VU at Oval No.2. Should be a good aftermatch

Albert Park v Power House. Homies again.

Kew v Ivanhoe. Wamba's clan to stay in the finals race.

SFX v West Brunswick.Just.

St Johns have alot of ranga's playing in their side. Seriously whats with that? I hear its going to be a warm/early spring this year which may have an adverse effect on their side.

I think having watched or played against all sides now, that I would pick La Trobe for the flag this year... unless the Hoes can make the finals in which case it will be Ivanhoe.

It is an open race. 1-9 still have something to play for.

I'm pretty sure there is some sort of a curse on the club... We are missing several players every week.

I wish they would move ski season away from footy season.

Come on D3 - you can't get on here and not be controversial.

Interesting to trawl through the last 3 rounds and note that the draw for the 'competing 6' on 32 points is pretty even - all 6 teams get to play 1 of the bottom 3.

La Trobe have faultered over the last few weeks with a couple of lucky wins and a loss to Yarra valley on the weekend. Have the wheels fallen off? Anyone able to provide an more info on the form slump.

Ivanhoe dropped from 3rd to 9th in last few weeks but still seem to talk themselves up...did you think you got a bit ahead of yourselves?

course we talked our selves up, thats what the internet and forums are for.

i bet on RSVP.com you come accross as a James Dean, and you probaly look more like john candy...

The Hoes have some quality players, but we seem to constantly get hit by imjury/absenteeism to our better players. (coming from a bias internal sauce prepared to admit he is talking up his own mob)

No excuses. We've been terrible until last Saturday when we showed some good signs but still lost easily.

Nothing wrong with being positive Grinders and the final chapters of 2010 are yet to be written.

nothing wrong with being positive at all. was more querying whether the recent form slump could be a result of being over complacent?

I think most teams are affected by injuries/absentees this time of year. I watched the albert park v wicks game on saturday and both teams were missing there best on baller & best forwards.

Not true - Elsternwick don't have a 'best on-baller' or a 'best forward' - they play as a team even across the park.......

Complacency yes in the sense that there are some players at the club who accept a level below of what they're capable although I don't think that is born of over confidence.

Of course injuries and unavailability takes the pressure off at the selection table.

Having said that I believe we have put some measures in place that will keep us in good stead for the rest of this year regardless of where we finish and beyond.

Allocating a space in the social rooms for the premiership flag was probably going a bit far by us Wamba after round 12.

On a serious note, can anyone from Kew confirm a social function this week? I hear a few of our boys are keen to return the favour and hang around for a few beers.

No Social Function this week Lions Den. Bar will be open though and the Ivanhoe Boys are more than welcome to have a few beers.

Elsternwick vs UHS-VU. A win by the home team will just about secure them the double chance.
Albert Park vs Power House. One of these teams could be a game clear of the pack if results fall a certain way and in a toss of the coin it comes down the home side.
St Francis Xavier vs West Brunswick. With both teams having nothing to play for maybe the home side can sneak a win before bidding this diviison farewell.
St Johns vs Yarra Valley. The form team of the competition should be able to handle the winemakers new found form.
Kew vs Ivanhoe. The Hoes can kiss their finals chances goodbye if they drop this one.
La Trobe Uni vs Hawthorn. This will be an interesting game under the lights as the students look to distance them from the pack.
