The Finals Are uppon us at last...Tips 1's:
Kew v S.F.X----I will go with kew by around 5 goals, have been playing better foooty over the last 3 weeks than S.F.X who seem to have dropped off a bit. After playing both sides a couple of times this year, I believe S.F.X to have a better midfield, but Kew with more targets up forward and better run from the backs. Will be a great game!

A.Park v MT.L----MT.L by ?.... After hanging on to a "LUCKY" 2 point win a couple rounds back, I expect them to be fired up ready to go for this elimination final. After bowing out last season in the first elimination they will be keen to make up for it this year. The two sides are very well matched. For those not playing finals this week I would recommend getting down to watch this one.

Tips 2's:
Kew v S.F.X----Kew by 5 goals
Rich.C v B.H.N----Rich.C by 5 goals

FINALS:

Seniors:

Kew to beat SFX by 3 goals. Kews seniros have not been in great form but have been getting the job done. Could go either way, though SFX haven't been in great shape lately.

AP will lose to ML by 1 goal...

Reserves:

Kew are the flag favourites and will win by 10-12 goals over an SFX side that has struggled in the past 6 weeks.

RC and BHN will produce a very close result. BHN have been in terrific form, belting a few of the finals contenders, while RC have gone down to both Kew and WB in the past two weeks. RC are expecting a few players back this week. It should be a cracker!

I think Centrals will dominate Box Hill this Sunday, but only if your centre half fires, the big kiwi bloke will be a revalation this finals series!!!

But I still think Kew has it over you lads at the moment and you will be struggling to get near em in the final. good luck.

Seniors
Kew by 4goals , SFX will be harder than expected, smell of an upset
Mt Lilydale by 2goals, too aggressive for Albert Park

Reserves
Kew by 10goals (kew will win the flag), way too strong for SFX
Richmond by 6 goals, were missing a couple of key players last week against West Brunswick, centre half and full forward for Richmond too powerful for Box Hill. Wouldnt be surprised if a full strength Richmond team make the finals.

Great week of finals, good luck to everyone

Interesting to note that the VAFA King has tried to pass himself off as a Kew person. But seems to know a lot about Richmond 2's;)

Waz,
Chicken is bringing the trophy to the final on sunday.
It took some convincing that it had to be put on the line again but he finally conceeded.
See you then.

Seniors:
It's going to be wet again on Saturday and Kew play those conditions well, SFX struggled last week in similar conditions therefore Kew should win x 4gls.

MTL have still far to many players out to challenge AP who will bounce from last weeks "rest" against EP. AP x 8gls.

2's:
Again in wet slippery condition Kew x 8gls will prove to good for SFX.

RC will need to win the ball out of the centre against Boc Hill if they are to beat them.......RC x 13points (Go Tigers.....I mean Snakes)

YB's tips for the 1st week of finals -

Q Final - This should be a great game. In my option once the dust has settled SFX will find it hard to control Kew's tall timber around the ground. Although SFX would be going in confident after a 76pt triumph in round 13 (@ home). As much as the on ballers are important I think the Kew forwards will prove to be the difference in this game Horne,McDermott and O'Connell are in solid form and a absence of Pearson from SFX who has kicked 9 goals in the teams 2 meetings will prove hard to counter. Too much pressure on Ben Spencer to get a big bag. Kew by 36 points for mine and I would say they are odds on the make the G Final. SFX may surprise but never the less I will be looking forward to this one !:rolleyes:

I cant say I applaud AP for resting players in the week leading up to an elimination final... but the proof is in the pudding I guess!

My guess is that ML and AP are both stronger than SFX at this point.

There is another game on, whats your thoughts on that?

True my friend Sneako. There is indeed another final to be played on the weekend. In my (amateur) option I believe this will be a close encounter. Recent form is hard to go by due the AP resting players (which I believe is a smart idea) and ML’s poor result in the last round v Kew. Both teams will be getting some key personal back however the Mountain Men have revenge in mind given the performance they showed in the same final 12 months earlier. Not sure of the playing surface at Oakliegh but history will tell us the finals ground are normally A1 so I can’t :cool:see this suiting one team over another. Mr Murname is averaging 4.5 goals over the past 7 games and will look to continue this trend for AP. The mountain men will need some of their ‘old’ hands firing to advance to the next round. The keys players for mine from A.P – McIndoe, Dallas and Murname and ML – Roberts, Rhodes and Finkemeyer. Mountain to win by 3 points.Good Luck to both teams.

Surface is fantastic, has a turf wicket in the middle but is a lot smaller than the one at Kew. If the heavy rain stops at some time today and doesn't come tomorrow then the ground should be in perfect condition (except for the square).

So, given that the centre will be a quagmire, and that it is not likely to stop raining tomorrow or Saturday.....I'd suggest it will be a long way from perfect condition.

Albert park will win because they are a little more fierce.
Kew will beat SFX because they are a better team.

Keepin' it simple.

It's on the sandbelt so the besides the centre the rest of the ground should hold up quite well regardless off the rain.

Is Sneako your friend now? he is much richer these days, good for a loan I'm led to believe;)
