Please explain the dishonest way Mullet? Have BHN spiked Richmonds drinkbottles tonight?:confused:

Just rumours going around about stacking , and the results of the past few weeks in their 1's and 2's point towards it. I wonder if they managed to squeeze enough 2's games into those senior players to qualify them for finals?

Just for the record, and why I would defend is actually beyond me, BHN had approx 25 players injured / unavailable at the same time over the last 6-8 weeks.

We even had Dragons (club 18), Vets and played short in the magoos for numerous games.

Players have been trickling back from injury and yes, some of those players would be senior footballers.

I don't think in this situation BHN would be on their Pat Malone! :thumbsu:

I think as a club your obliged to play all qualified, fit and available players without pissing off the blokes who got you there........

FWIW, can't see BHN stacking.......Just not that type of club.

It's on the sandbelt so the besides the centre the rest of the ground should hold up quite well regardless off the rain.

well considering that i know the turf pitch well enough during the summer period as a player for the mighty Krushers CC - the pitch will be like cake with the continuing downfall - its a wide ground with great sandbelt especially along the clubrooms wing - flankers & wings on this side will be smart to be on danger positions for quick rebound plays.

key to winning will be centre clearances on this ground, if midfielders arent tight you'll have plenty of room to deliver towards the top of a leading player or goal square bombs.

gl to all sides -

Very similar in size to kew.

So, given that the centre will be a quagmire, and that it is not likely to stop raining tomorrow or Saturday.....I'd suggest it will be a long way from perfect condition.

Albert park will win because they are a little more fierce.
Kew will beat SFX because they are a better team.

Keepin' it simple.

Let just say -the team who kicks the higher score will win the game ! Ozza If only the game was that simple.

a few tough decisions made at selection last night guys? RC had a good hit out in the pouring rain... I can't wait for Sunday. I'm feeling nervous already and this is just for the reserves!

i'm looking forward to sunday to see you have a run around waz - whats your number??

Oakleigh is in magnificent condition. My source said the playing surface is good enough to putt on. Centre area is boggy as expected.

ur not referring to the ground just on Warrigal Rd by anychance? - i doubt VAFA has given D4 that much of a gift or care for the D4 Section to allow or have rights to play on that ground... Scammell Reserve via North Rd - is rather a Sand patch not counting the pitch, kinda like the 'bad end' of AP's 1/2 of OVAL 20 so it will be hard runs thru the lines and the game will be won by the team with the better skill by finding a kick or handball to targets above the knee level, the ball will hardly skid on..

anyways the ground should be a minimal effect for all teams involved.

dkerr, ground was dug up after cricket in March and new grass laid. The ground is in immaculate condition. So good in fact that when I was there this morning it had just been mowed!!!

Best ground I have seen in a long time. The pitch area is muddy and the centre square has been moved across so that one wing is a lot bigger than the other one.

Not one bit of sand to be seen, obviously it was like that when you played cricket but not now. The only reason I can see that it is not being used for a higher grade is that it is relatively small with wide flanks.

kew cant be that worried that they had to send a scout to oversee the ground ? lol

fair enough... should be a great game sand or no sand either way :p
gl to all clubs involved!

Good to catch up with a bunch of the D4 presidents at the lunch today. Some interesting points were raised...

One that I found interesting...

If you are suspended by the tribunal, you should be able to reduce your suspension by a week if you boundary umpire the seniors the following week.... For the team you infringed upon! I think thats a cracking idea! :)

Geez Waz you don't mess around, Sholly and Peter Hille haven't even finished the first bottle of plonk and your already out surveying the masses.

What would happen if a game was decided upon the suspended player/ boundary umpires dodgy decision? what if it cost a club finals?

2 good things out of last sat cobras v bhn game jp the chinamen playing d4 footy again (good bloke) and our d4 forum hero ruck machine actully playing in the ruck and getting sent off

No one likes a good rumour more the n myself.
But this one is getting dusty.
To keep from forfieting during rds 15 and 16 we used lots of our clubbies and over 35 team players.
In the last couple of rds the ressies have regained a few of their injured players.
Before making claims of dishonesty go and research the senior and reserve team sheets from BHN (easy to access on VAFA site). Go back to the first four rds of the season before both our teams started building our massive injury list. The BHN ressies form in those early rds was right on pace with the Kew/WB and SFX ressies.

It is only reserves, but we are very proud of the guys who overcame adversity to get to finals, after being denied that right last year by the shortened season. The game against Richmond about rd 15 (from memory) was little short of miraculous. We owe a lot to the support of four young asian boys from our Dragons number 2 team. They were left out of their clubbies team that day and were fantastic for our ressies with their chasing and tackling.

On another note, not only did JP play senior D4 footy last week but was in the best 5 (BHN) in my humble opinion.

Prediction- A fit RM to play whole season in ruck next season and tear the competition apart. Come back to me this time next year and tell me it aint so.

There was chicken on the menu yesterday, but no sight of him at the table?

Think the invite got lost in the mail.
Don't think he knew about it.
Any other reports on todays games?
Reserves seems no surprise, thought the margin is unexpected.
Bit of an upset in ones. SFX play well or Kew off a bit?
Sorry.
Don't miss many finals but Mrs Spy had a hold of my collar today.:(
