At 33 years of age he is a quality player and one who I believe is top 5 in the comp. He had a down day on Saturday and kicked 4. I f I was to base a player on one game then I wouldn't have have Penny in my top 20. He kicked 1 goal on saturday and never really looked dangerous. He must be a quality player because his previous efforts this year suggest he is.

My point is you can't judge a player off one game. This list of players were supplied by each club and the players with the most votes made up the top 10.

At the end of the day this is just my opinion.

I don't think this line of thought makes much sense.

I don't think a players top 10 list has anything to do with where the teams are placed - and I don't think anyone is 'obliged' to be in there because their team is performing well.

WB might have only 1 in the top 10 - but they may have 10 in the top 50 players for instance... Likewise with Kew and SFX perhaps.

Pietch (wb) is also in the top 10 - Quality player

Surely though WB must have more than 1 player in the top ten. I would place 3 in the top ten. Kew 2 and SFX 2
Quality teams have quality players.

Fwd, wing, on ball and back flank. That is just so far this year.

RM was stiff.
Hasn't been beaten down back for a long time.
In fact only saw him give up a bag once, at StMarys when he could not bend or move sideways.
Been key position back in team of the year for several years now. Guess defenders just did not rate.

Pfft as if I'd be in the top 20.

Not to mention I also had food poisoning that day.

Penny named in top 10 but didnt get a gig in best forwards.

About right I reckon.........:D

The top ten list is a bit of an odd concept. There's an underlying tendancy to list only one from each team, and two teams are going to miss out... should you include the standout player from a struggling team, or two of the top players from a team going gangbusters?

Very well deserved.

Was glad to see Dave Pizzari given some acknowledgement too. Captain of the club and about as gutsy & consistently good as they come. Good on ya Pize.

You can't know many umps if you think they'd all have a larf... sensitive beings that they are.

Rooster, D.Penny I think plays at FF (?? Ruck Machine) and F.George is the young dynamo "Cisco" not Levi. Wen fit, Cisco would run laps around Levi, sorry Levi, do rate him as well, but I have seen Cisco at his best.....Not Bad!!

Read the list again- unless i am mistaken there are 2 WB in top ten and five total listed. Just because a player is in a lower side should not deny him a place in a top players list- it is his ability in question not the team's. The lists were compiled from more than once source, not just the clubs. It is good to hear discussion and differing points of view. The article was designed to create debate. Now start getting some nominations in for top ten rising stars(u21)
