Interesting few days of posting, especially targeting BHN. For loyal posters on this forum and for those interested;

* most abuse directed at BHN has been by bigfooty "newbies". The posts have been identified from different internet cafes around Melbourne suburbs.
* We actually know who the person is. Unfortunately he has a mental illness and a vendetta against BHN that goes back many years.
* the VAFA and bigfooty moderators have been informed of this particular individual and his continued attacks.
* He has sent numerous personal letters and emails to the club trying to undermine stability over the past 2 years.

For those not in the loop, BHN has come ahead leaps and bounds from approx 5 years ago. It is unfortunate that people such as this (with limited mental capacity) can use this forum to undermine and take cheap pot shots.

We hope most can see through this rubbish.

With regards to the cost of a slab, this is a first request and I'm sure we will handle better next time. We are trying to work with council and improve ground surface.

Finally, thanks to all and the Centrals (in particular) for backing us up. :thumbsu:

Is going into that level of detail necessary?

I think there have already been admissions that there is some truth in what has been said about BHN, albeit by someone who may harbour ill feelings.

Slab price / direction from the assistant coach / poor surface, and the jury is out on the changerooms. What the players were like and if there was abuse directed at the umpires really really only for those at the game to know. I wasn't there - and haven't commented on that accordingly.

Why are these comments such an problem? If BHN is the great club you claim it to be (and it may well be), then all who encounter it will find that out first hand and these posts become a non-issue.

Regardless Pete, most people have trouble thinking independently so will take what they read as gospel (I'm thinking more of people who have not dealt with the club in the past). It would be an admission of truth on the club's behalf to not make comment, and that could have dire consequences if such crap that was spouted led to a dodgy reputation in the wider community.

For those travelling by bus next week: Stubbies VB Slabs $34 at BWS......

I think $50 for a slab is reasonable if they are take aways and aren't just going to drink it in the rooms after a match. Most slabs these days cost nearly $40 (especially in Richmond)... so its not a huge mark up.

Tinkerbell,

I make an assumption you play at Kew. ;)

I would never come out and say I have never seen as much dog sh*t anywhere in the state at your oval because you have no control over people that walk their dogs, would I?

But if enough people say the same thing it would stick.

The dog sh*t that is!!!! :)

I think Peter Pan is from Albert Park. I agree with the dog shit as it constanly pisses us off that the residents don't take the friggen dogs up to the top oval.

The surface is very good other thatn the turds.

Hi all,

Long time lurker first time poster...

I won't claim to know too much about D4 footy and I haven't played against every club but I thought in this break week it may be appropriate to give a description of each team (tongue planted firmly in cheek) based on what I've read in my time as a BigFooty lurker:

WB: Apparently there's something in the water on the western side of Brunswick. A team populated by mythical 'men' varying between 7 and 9 feet tall and able to issue fire, lightning and various other deadly forces from their orifices. A dangerous bunch by anyone's measure.

SFX: Apparently arrogant footballers on and off the field who ply their trade on the green and fertile oasis of a school oval and complain bitterly when forced onto less lush pastures. Almost living up to the big pre-season wraps but yet to play the Greek Gods above them.

Kew: Apparently run around on a dog obedience oval where the main lesson taught is how to leave excrement in neat little piles scattered evenly across the relatively limited surface area. The boys themselves kick their feet up against a warm fire and laugh at their opposition treking frozen back from an old scout hall after each game.

Mt Lily: A team of rugged mountain men from way out where most men dare not tread. Flat track bullies, or so I've heard, who can beat up those below but are in turn beaten up by the big boys in the playground.

RC: A team that's come a long way but has a lot further to go. Nice blokes if they beat you but not if they're on the receiving end. Have some good cattle but melt when the heat is applied.

AP: Got themselves up for one game (or did WB just have an off afternoon) but haven't replicated the feat. Can't get on their ground for half the year and can't perform on anyone else's. The cries of injury may be warranted but it's a worn excuse for a midtable team. Well represented in the rep side this weekend.

BHN: One of the least popular bunches recently who apparently bash umpires, play on a cow paddock and run a bootlegging liquor operation from their bar. Maybe their sh1t blokes, maybe there's a sh1t bloke that hates them but either way they've provided some entertainment this week.

Sth M Favourites to win something... worst ground in the comp. Came in flying and then tripped (probably in the middle of their dustbowl) and fell on their face. Don't travel well and would probably rather be in their roomy barn with a beer than on the field. They have 3 players who have completed high school.

Eley They try hard but don't really get anywhere. Quiet on the forum so I can't say much but they haven't upset too many people. Most blokes barely notice that they're in the league.

Bulleen Are struggling after showing some promise. Perhaps every team has adopted WBs dishonest brand of forward-running lairy footy. Or perhaps Cookson's a one man band.

North B The ugly cousins of Brunswick. Used to like the biff but have apparently lost their appetite for it.

S.T.H Have an active coach on Bigfooty and were vocal preseason. Not sure if they've stopped talking or we've stopped listening. Nobody cares about them anymore (except maybe NB)

No offence meant boys... Just for a giggle!

It is a very good surface indeed CB, haven't played footy there but have some good cricket memories on that ground. Always played well there - am hoping that will be the case with footy also.

Such a tense forum still.

Everyone needs to calm down!!

Firstly I have been a reader of the forum and have enjoyed the gossip and chat on the hot topics of D4. I am just a player from SFX who is pissed off with blokes using our club as a way to express their own opinions on clubs that they may have an issue with. Even though they are not players or even supporters of the club. I also find it very funny how blokes can hide behind names to give off vandictive remarks about other clubs. As for the comments about our club to be unhappy about BHN and what they can provide is further from the truth. Two great games, the senior game was played hard but fair and the ground was as good as what a lot of our boys receive out our way. (70-80% of our players have orginally played country football. And our home grounds have come from land that was used for old tips, swamps or grounds where only football and nothing else could be conducted on.) As to be classed as arogant it would have to be further from the truth just ask some of the teams who have played us! BHN from what I saw have a great group of senior blokes who tend to play for each other and a club that is being run smoothly.
The VAFA has provided a great chance for our club to founder in. Win, lose or draw we just want a successful club off the field like BHN so the club can be placed on the right tracks to move in a positive direction.

Hope you guys are enjoying the ammo's......its a different kettle of fish for sure, but its all about fun, football, matehsip and sportsmanship. pretty simple.

Enjoy the break as we all will

Waz - Lakey & all the boys at RC - good luck tonight with the Footy Show. I'm sure you'll represent your club & D4 Ammos footy well...

Tinkerbell,

I make an assumption you play at Kew. ;)

Dear Miss Power,

I'm not from Kew, and I'm not from Albert Park. I'm just some disgruntled SFX player, who arrogantly despises all other teams and until now I haven't been able to admit that I hate everything except for D4 umpires. Those tireless bunch do everything and then some for our league and everyone involved. Who do BHN think they are questioning the umpires' ability? They are infallible pillars of the community.

Kew does have a well fertilised oval, but the nitrogen cycle pales in comparison to the ground at Eltham.

Sounds like you've got some mixed emotions on the topic.

There's nothing you can do about people posing as representatives from your club. If I were to go to the cleaners on North Brunswick's efforts on the weekend, and casually mention Mr Horne didn't play for "us", I'm sure Crazybear would be displeased but could do no more than argue my comments.

Similarly, it's not hard to rabbit on about missed opportunities by "our" Albert Park forwards (they kicked 12.19) and how Syndal went the biff behind play, drank their own grog, didn't shake hands with everyone else at the ground, spectators included, and how the umpires were terrible. Granted though that the last point is just like death and taxes.
