I wouldnt of thought it was a dog act...as already mentioned players leave clubs at any level for their own reasons. Whether it is because they are unhappy, moving to play with mates, or want to play somewhere closer to home, they all have a reason. Knowing Phipps throughout the past year at Syndal, it was clear that he was there to play with a mate and enjoyed playing under Manny and as those reasons have left the club, so if Phipps is unhappy then so be it. As I understand at least Phipps was man enough to have a civil discussion with the new coaches at Syndal off his own back rather then just walking out on the club. If the issue is that he has moved to a club in the same division, people do that all the time. Clearly he has the talent and ability to play at a higher level but chooses to play where coin is not an issue because he purely enjoys his footy. If Kew are the team that he decides will foster his enjoyment, then I dont see it as a dog act.

Its D4 footy, a bit of fun, not the be all and end all....

Well put U/12 Superstar

*I agree to a degree, but not all club commitees think the same "new way of thinking" ranging from clubies all the way to A section*

Gday lads and ladies, If anyone would like a practice match against Power House on either the weekend of March 21 or March 28, please PM me.

We only have access to a temporary ground (no goalposts or lines) so an away venue is preferred. Vegemite.

Boys,

Get on the Mount Lilydale bandwagon.

Couple of BIG recruits boys that can play !!

The two blokes from Lilydale can play - 1st Divison EFL. :)

Sounds fairly good about the Lilydale pick ups, but I hear a rumour that a certain equal D4 B&F winner who was ineligable to win win due to suspension is comfortable with his new life style living close to the CBD and will not be returning to the mountains for 2009.
I'm of the understanding that he will be playing with a local club and just so happens that RC is very much a neighbour of this giant ruckman.

Interesting development!!

I certainly wouldn't call him a giant ruckman ... more of a rover who rucks a bit (i.e. a Ruck Rover)

Interesting 'rumour'........If the Mt.Lil boys lost the services of the big 'T-BONE' (the best player in D4 footy) he would be very hard to replace, especially this late in the pre-season. But if for some reason the rumour rang true, well I couldnt see the bloke going to another rival D4 club. As a Mt.Lil player it would be a huge loss to the place, as he is a genuine leader and has alot of respect around the club for his on and off field attributes.

How are everyones grounds looking? Anyone cracked out the footy boots yet?

kb is as green as the hills. a little weedy but not a bare spot on the ground. footy boots back on after cricket is finished. bigwaz is playing in the e grade cricket gf the next 2 weekends;) rc are on camp this weekend at phillip island. anyone else?

Last time I played against Chadstone (Syndal) the reserves runner was sent to deliver a message from the reserves coach to their forward with the instructions of "make sure he leaves the ground on a stretcher" when reffering to one of our players.

I hope these kind of stupid comments and actions are not going to be a common game plan for the new senior coach for next year:confused:

Similar thing happened to us, whilst playing Syndal.

Kew people, please confirm:

West Coburg Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA) (KEW AFC) Haddad, Pierre Pending 10/03/09

Is this the same Haddad that used to play for Northcote Park in the DVFL in early 2000's?

It's a different Pierre. I think the other one is still down at Northcote Park.

Just down the road Ozza! What's the surface like? Looked ordinary on google maps.

Like all grounds at the moment its a bit patchy - but the surface isn't hard like Allard has been - so by the time our first home game comes around (Round 6) it will be in good nick I'd suggest. Its a bit longer and a bit wider than Allard.

And don't forget the atmosphere that will be created from having a crowd in the grandstand....YES, a grandstand!!!!! And the changerooms aren't bad either. And the bar!!!! Well, you'd never complain about a bar as long as it had a few cold ones on offer.

Really, 2 mil? NB will go from having the worst rooms to the best. Stuff like that benefits all of D4, so good on them!

The council is finally following through on what had been proposed for a long long time. I wouldn't have said we had the worst rooms though!

The changerooms may have been a bit small but they weren't that bad - and the clubrooms/bar/canteen was really good I thought.
