yaman from swinburne kicked 13 out of 20 goals agianst mt lilydale. thats a fair effort .

kew play them this week....what type of player is he...remember a while back someone saying he is quite small and will play more in the midfield. i take it he played more up forward on the weekend.

Bout 5-10... Solid, not overly quick. reads the play well and obviously is a good finisher.

What's the deal with all the 100 point wins. Wasn't this bad last year. 4 out of the 6 games on the weekend were decided by 100 points or more. Is D4 that uneven?

I know that every team has it's injury woes, but Manningham would like to think that they'd be significantly more competitive if the injury gods smiled on us just a little bit.

We'll start & get some players back this week which will start to release a bit of pressure on numbers.

Our poor 2's coach probably feels it the most. Our numbers are good, just unfortunte that too many of them have been sitting on the sidelines watching the games!

I was told that Yaman kicked 13 straight and that he played in Balwyn's Div 1 grand final team last year......I smell a Papaluca here!!

He plays forward pocket, quite small but very skillful and has great footysmart. Not many teams have their best player in the forward pocket, nor their best player in the back pocket, so they would of caught a few teams out. Kicks a lot of goals from 0 - 20m out.

Overall standards have dropped (with a few exceptions, Richmond & Sth Morn), very surprised by Mt Lilydale, can't believe their not winning more, I rate them highly.

Bit of a similar tale at BHN. Had a look at our list and noticed that 29 of our 'best 44' are out injured at the moment. Massive test of depth that we are obviously failing at the moment!

I think the draw could have been handled better.

If the top sides played each early in the season, and likewise the bottom sides, then the matches would be better. and the ladder more even. Wins keep players at training, so it makes it very tough for the teams with fewer numbers (Box Hill for example) when they have to play all the top sides straight up.

It is a very odd draw when 5 games in we've got 4 teams that are yet to win a game in a 12 team competition.

I don't know that it is the VAFA's responsibility to consider competitiveness of teams in the draw. It's the clubs jobs to win games. It just a bitch when injuries make clubs uncompetitive.

Tough to attract guys to the club when we're 0-5.

is round 5 now going to be forever remembered as "the matches of massacre" ... +2??

i guess a round like this is unprecendented in ANY competition of australian rules football.

surely this division isnt THAT lop-sided & its just bad scheduling by those at league headquarters...

SssHhhIiiTtt.....The short stocky bugger is very strong in the legs and hard to move, reads the play better than most I've seen in D4. As for another 'Papa, well we'd like to hope not! Every club in this grade would have a half dozen blokes that could go earn some O.K $$$ in other leagues, so lets just say he's down there for mateship and love of the game.

Maybe the stripper fired him up before the game, personal performance in one of those portables, I hear that she was a good looker after a few dozen froffies........

Having a look forward.... Round 8 should provide close-ish games across the board...

Chad v NB, Mann v BHN, LT v AP, MTL v EP, Swin v SM, RC v Kew

All interesting games.

Round 6 Tips

BHN vs RC - BHN by 1 point
Chad vs Ham - Ham by 4 goals
LTU vs SM - LTU by 6 goals
MtL vs NB - NB by 2 goals
AP vs EP - AP by 15 goals
Kew vs Swin - Kew by 2 goals.

BHN vs RC - BHN by 1 point
Chad vs Ham - Ham by 4 goals
LTU vs SM - LTU by 6 goals
MtL vs NB - NB by 2 goals
AP vs EP - AP by 15 goals
Kew vs Swin - Kew by 2 goals.

BHN v RC - Volunteers Memorial Cup at stake! Ruck Machine unavailable due to suspension... Things could get ugly at Elgar Park, especially in the reserves with ChickenTonight and Bigwaz squaring off. rc to the tune of 1 point in the Seniors, and 300 in the ressies :)

The Chad v ManHam - Not too sure how the Hammers are travelling at this point, but there seem to be whispers of injury. I didn't think The Chad were that bad last satruday despite the scoreline. Saying that though, ManHam by 5 goals to get on the board. (Just about match of the round)

LTU v SM - Very interesting game here. Both sides are full of run, the only question being SM's ability to get up for the big games, especially on the road. For those reasons I'm going with LTU by 5 goals.

MTL v NB - NB has a chance in this match, not a huge chance, but a chance all the same. Neither side has a lot of height, so it will be a battle for the loose ball. MTL by 5 goals.

AP v EP - The all pros will dominate extended play and win by 100 points... again.ZZZZZ

Kew v Swin - Another good game with two of the bigger sides squaring off. Both sides have big forwards, so my guess is the side with the better midfield wins the day. I don't know much about Kew yet, but I'm sticking with them by 3 goals.

Hey Waz I noticed you had a couple of very very handy key back types(1 current and 1 former) players line up in the 2s on the weekend. Have not noticed their names at all this year so I can only assume 1 had been out injured and the other has returned to the club after a few very good years in the bush. Looks like the centrals are going to have a very good defence this year which is something that has been lacking ever since big chief shannon retired about 7 years ago.

our senior captain played in the twos and yes, an ex richmond ex violet town player strapped them on for us again. i think our defence has been excellent in both seniors and reserves this year. we're not scoring as much as the top sides though.

Mt Lilydale have certainly been down on previous years in terms of quality football. Like most clubs though this can be directly attributed to injuries to KEY players and a high turn over of new players getting accustomed to how we need to play our footy. However we are still in the same position as the last 2 years in terms of win/loss ratio at 2 and 3. But unlike the last couple of years we do have some valuable players to return in the coming weeks.......HOPEFULLY:confused:

box hill north v richmond central... 38 points
chadstone v manningham cobras... 21 points
latrobe university v south mornington... 24 points
mount lilydale v north brunswick... 98 points
albert park v eley park... 97 points
kew v swinburne university... 6 points

The Fuseball Rnd 6 Tips -

BHN vs RC - BHN at home (are still crap) so RC by 81 points. Small ground to see Mr Nuske maintain leading goal kicker.

Chad vs Man - Both teams keen to get 'any' points. Chad to kick more than 2 goals and improve on last week however it the Ham's for mine by 23 points.

LTU vs SM - I can smell a upset. SM had 46 shots on goal last week and are in great form. Uni boys hard to beat at home but im running with a 11 point upset to the away team.

MtL vs NB - Its normally this time of the year NB start to strenghten the ressies with senior players to have a crack a flag. So based on that fact its the mountainmen at home for me by 22 points.

AP vs EP - Poor old sharks are about to be swooped apon by a strong pack of Falcons. AP by 78 points

Kew vs Swin - Kew at Home by 43 points.

Good luck to you and your team.

Fuseball, you are pretty obviously trying to get a reaction from a few on here with your idiotic comments.

North Brunswick has never ever tried to strengthen a reserves side. The fact that our reserves have tended to be a fairly strong side is because our list is fairly even between probably our 10th and 50th player. We haven't been able to get as many top notch senior players as we'd like along the journey - but we also haven't got any spuds either.

BHN vs RC - RC by 8 goals
Chad vs Man - Mann by 10 goals (Chad are struggling)
LTU vs SM - LTU by 10 goals. (STh are overrated, beat nobody)
MtL vs NB - NB by 2 points
AP vs EP - AP by plenty
Kew vs Swin - Kew by 2 goals

Final predction Bob 290305 makes a muppet of himself with his next post :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Good luck to all
