Monash and Richy Osborne have attracted many a new player to the club, they already look like the West Brunswick of 2008...unbeatable.

Any more info on pre-season to date?

Was chatting to a couple of boys from Monash the weekend just passed and they tell me they have some very talented tall running types around the wing and defence, but they also informed me that plenty of numbers have walked and the numbers coming in are of lesser quality. One of the fellas hinted it was due to Mr Osborne and his verbal outbursts.....

I also heard they had dropped a few quality players. You'd hate to think they left just because a bit of harsh verbal was thrown at 'em. Well if its a soft club they are after I will give them the number to Bok-Hill-Nth.

I have heard in other circles that Osbourne is a love him or hate him type of bloke... But aren't all coaches? It comes with the territory...

I'm pretty comfortable that Lilydale & Monash will be good, Mornington should be ready to take the next step as will Swinburne after a year in D4.

All the teams that played D4 would be hoping at this time of the year that they'd find the players to play finals, so the Cobras for 5th.

Best of the rest are likely to be Richmond & North (as long as the pre Xmas going on were washed away with the Xmas cheer). Hopefully Point Cook are PC & don't come in first year & blow the competition away, so a few from the bottom should be an OK entrance to the VAFA.

Eley Park, BHN & Chadstone to fill the last 3 places, but hopefully all of them will be nice & competitive. A vibrant competition will hopefully see all 3 win their fair share of games.

Good luck to all in their recruitment drive over January!:thumbsu:

I here Swinburne may have lost Yaman (supposedly playing for Canterbury in EFL in 2010), very difficult to replace a 100 goal kicker.

2010 ladder prediction: Why Not:
1st= Monash......Even if they have lost a few quality players they should have the depth to worry most in D4 footy just as the last 3-4 premiers have done so from D3.
2nd= Rich.C.....Realy stepped it up last season and if they find more consistancy this year after a finals tilt in 09 they will be right in it come the business end of the year.
3rd= Mt.Lilydale.....Well I cant put us last! Can I?
4th= Sth.Morning.....Thier youth should be better with another year under the belt aswell as a soul searching thumping in the finals.
5th= Manningham.....Seemed to be lacking a couple of quality forwards last season, so if they can grab 1-2 goal kickers they might suprise a few this year.
6th= Nth.Bruns.....Dont know how they have come out of thier post season drama but if they have retained majority of thier players plus the dozen or so the new coach has brought down, well they can only improve. They always lifted against the stronger opposition last year and could be a threat.
7th= E.Park.....I like thier style of play but they just didn't look fit enough to run with it for four quaters last year, so a big pre-season could see them having a good crack this year.
8th= Point.C.....?????? The unknown. I'm looking forward to seeing what they have to offer.
9th= B.H.Nth.....Have a handful of quality players that took on most of the load last season so a couple more may inject a bit of life for the club. Lets hope so anyway!
10th= Sw.Uni.....Without Yaman they would have been lucky to win 3 games last season, someone of that calibre can not be replaced. Good luck to them though.
11th= Chadstone.....I'm just going to hope that they have somehow recruited a few footballers this year and can atleast be competitive.

P.S: What a cracker of a bowling effort by the Aussies today. Oi-Oi-Oi!!

I believe South Mornington had a house cleaning on the coaching front? Could help them this season. I always expect them to improve.

Monash will clearly be the favs.

Point Cook? We'll have to send someone to watch a training session or two this pre-season...:)

I've noticed RC have already organised a praccy match vs Laverton.

Any other clubs organised praccy matches yet?

Pretty sure Manningham have 2 organised - sorry - don't know who against...

Manningham i think are playing Point Cook at our ground , everyone should get a better idea of us after that game and we will get a better idea of where we are at !!! Will be interesting.

Training was good before Crissy but its in a game and who can find the footy then do something with it that will count most. Every team has alot of February Hero`s who end up playing 2`s.

We have 3 games lined up and will need the game time to get used to eachother. Quicker we gel the better.

All good and Coach Fraser is a Top Bloke but talks alot!haha

Good work Roganjosh. Can you give the forum some feedback on the numbers at the club, the quality and anything else you can share about the newly formed Point-Cook. It must be a very exciting time for the club and even the community.
Mt.Lilydale will be playing 2 practice matches against Chirnside-Park, Olinda, Eeley-Park, Belgrave or Yarra-Glen. Sorry I cant narrow it down theese are just the clubs that have had some sort of contact, but I figure we'll have a couple set within a few weeks. I would rather play clubs from VAFA D3-D4 just to get a better feel for where abouts we sit.
