Point cook have been fortunate with players, all shapes and sizes, whippets, big men etc etc... so are pretty balanced... Numbers have been solid right from the start, even a week before xmas when training was officially over there were 20 odd blokes still doing there own thing...

In relation to clearences, you're right most have played at some stage or another... but i 'think' dont know for sure, but clearences still have to be filled out even if it's been 5-9 years since u last played?? someone else might be able to confirm... there's plenty more clearances to go...

I do hope you're right about PC being a suprise packet but time will tell... you can never know how a whole team of blokes new to each other will gel... trying to remember 60 odd blokes names is tough...

Cant wait for the season to roll around...

Point Cook had 15-20 blokes there every Monday and Wednesday over the Christmas/New Year break, running a session on their own devices with their own organisation. A one week break before the start of official training was the only pause point in an otherwise fantastic pre-season. On top of this, a number of the boys who are extra hungry for the 2010 season are registered and playing weekly at the Westgate Indoor Sports Centre under the name "The Cookers".

As for whether the team is gelling or not, the voice, the intensity and the team mentality every night is something to be admired, and is often commented on by supporters looking on. Already a massive sense of pride for the jumper is displayed around the club, and the understanding of fellow players strengths and weaknesses is growing at an advanced rate.

Expect a strong showing by Point Cook Football Club in 2010.

Lets hope Chadstone can find some replacements. It'd be a shame to see them go after all these years.

Richmond & Mt Lilydale starting to put in some clearance forms (3 each). Point Cook at this stage have put in 20+.

Manningham won't have any to put in till next week at the earliest. I don't know numbers at this stage for how many we'll have, but there are a few new faces training.

What are other clubs up to?

If point cook don't put in 60 they'll be struggling to field sides each week?

We had a player transfer from RC to Point Cook. But he never played a game for us.

Someone mentioned to me the other night...

What happens when the Point Cook supporters realise you can't drink at the ground during matches?

Unfortunately Waz it'll be the same as all of the other low grade VAFA clubs; they'll drop off & they'll struggle for the off-ground support same as the rest of us!

Some of the Manningham boys will be sore this morning. A big training session last night with the weight vests out & plenty of running.

Supporters are all new to Senior Footy as well bigwaz , i`m sure they will be able to hold on till the final siren !
Also the Club is trying to create a great Family Culture which is where this senior Team has been created from, a strong Junior base.
Plus you can tell me if i`m wrong but supporters would hang around alot longer at the Club after the Siren if they have waited all day to have a few Froffies which we all enjoy ! (Best part of the day).

True on all counts. Though you don't usually have a heap of reserves players hanging around... they tend to go to the pub after a win unfortunately :( I imagine the first PC v RC senior match will attract a few spectators... Should be a cracker! I may have to wear a suit ;) Provided I'm not the bloody boundary umpire!

Wouldn't worry about that Waz, for PC's first game in the VAFA guaranteed the league will want to make a good impression and will send out a full complement of field, boundary and goal umpires. Probably first and only time for the season, but hey, take it while you can get it!

Agree with the above!

Interesting to see that Mt Lilydale have put in 3 clearances - 2 canceled & one declined.

Manningham will put some of theirs in next week.

Could be a wet night tonight gentlemen!

Hope you're right about the boundary umpires... I suspect that'll be the case, especially because not all teams are playing that weekend. Probably most games will have a full compliment?

I wouldnt count on that bigwaz, dont forget the league will still have to pay these umpires, when they could save some cash and give them the week off..

Think you will find bigwaz is correct, word is that a number of board members will front up to the Point Cook, Richmond game.:thumbsu:

bigwaz waz suggesting the rest of the comp may get a full compliment of umpires. I am sure VAFA will send out the big guns to PC, but doubtful to anywhere else.

Just had a look on the VAFA site and noticed only Richmond Centrals and Mt.Lilydale along with the obvious Point-Cook have applied for inward clearences. Richmond Centrals and Mt.Lilydale are the only clubs to have players requesting outward clearences.
So just wondering wether other clubs have any new personal and just havn't applied yet or if clubs are planning to play with the same list as '09. With 7 weeks until round one I'd like to think most sides would have atleast a half dozen+ new faces around. Any Feedback?????
P.S--Point Cook requesting a clearance for the services of Brett Myers from Sydney (AFL)
