You know all these Pies fans are itching for Thomas to come close to living up to the hype.. He's so far away its embarrassing.
He's played his 1 good game out of 8. Expect this thread to die right down then get bumped about round 12 or 13 when he next plays a 'decent' game.
He's always had potential IMO, but he never seemed committed to playing out a full game. If he bust's a gut for the full 4 quarters week in and week out, and increases his tank he could fulfil his potential. Jury is still out.
Guaranteed to have a shocker on Anzac day now...

Needs to find this kind of form on a much more consistent basis, but the early signs are good for him having a good 2010 season.
Has not put a foot wrong since he joined the club - except perhaps in the kicking department, but he has steadily improved there as well as his body has matured. Last year he fulfilled a more defensive role and people incorrectly saw that as him having bad season, simply because he wasnt taking hangers and gathering stats or kicking goals.
Capable of playing at both ends of the ground as well as in the middle, he is fast becoming one of the most versatile players in the team, and probably in the game.
Will always be under-rated by opposition supporters who just dont like him or the club he plays for.

Must have a pretty good soothsayer at Collingwood to identify a big match performer at 17 years of age. And finally see some evidence of it 5 years later.
Got to give Thomas recent credit. Mostly for having a real dip in the losing final last year when plenty of others with better home and away credentials went missing, and his output to date this year is certainly up.
However. For a priority pick with 90 games under his belt you'd have hoped to have seen this level of performance a couple of years ago and steady development since then.
Lets wait a while. At the moment Thomas is a low output small forward who did not improve noticeably over his first four seasons. Good luck to him if he can make the transition to damaging inside 50 and a competent midfield rotation. But takes more than a few games to make that call.

Wouldn't have been hard. Dale Thomas was BOG in the TAC cup grand final the year he was drafted.
