Well the Fiveaa breakfast team have a pretty good record of getting their comments players to move interstate. Maybe they can get Hinkley to do the segment next year just to make sure its his last.

Good luck to Houston, hope he stays but if he wants to go home he wants to go home, can't really blame him for that.

Turned a #45 rookie pick into what should be a bumper trade haul with his consistently excellent performances over seven years.

And as much as the Rankine suspension hurt us later in the season, the ball was there, the player was wide open and he absolutely took no prisoners. Which is what we've always demanded from our players.

He'll always be one of us, go well my son.

Think we should get the Luko deal done first before the Dan deal, don't show our hands with first round picks, give GC a F2 and may a sweetener and tell them we're helping them out with their salary cap

Can see a 3 way trade here between Pies, Suns and Port

Noble and F2 Port and lots of picks from Pies to Suns
Luko to Port
12 to Pies and they give up a plethora of picks to help match the Lombard bid
Why not North pick 2 and next years First Rounder, 2 and 24 for Gold Coast first and Lukocious? Get them a pick before the bid comes

North's pick this year + next year is overs for Houston.

Gold Coast already have pick 6 so they'll get a player before the Lombard bid comes in

Straight swap for Norfs Pick 2. Then we can downgrade Pick 2 if we want, for whatever else we need.

What could we realistically turn pick 2 into?

Only Gold Coast (6 and 12) and Fremantle (9, 10, 15) currently have multiple picks in the first round of this year's draft (pending any FA compo).

Trading with GC gets complicated because we'll already be trying to deal for Lukosius, they'll have a particular view about their academy picks, and they may not think pick 2 is worth picks 6 and 12.

I don't know what Fremantle might want, or how likely they'd be to trade out one or both of picks 9 and 10, but their best pick may not be a top 10 pick after bids (it would be good to take a genuine top 10 pick to the draft).

Particularly Melbourne (but also St Kilda and maybe Essendon) may feel that their 2024 ladder position doesn't reflect the strength of their list/football program, so they might be happy with their current position in the first round, making them less willing to trade up to pick 2 because of what else they would need to give up.

If Houston wants a longer career and an up and coming young team, the Kangaroos are stacked.

If we got 2, I would want two later draft picks like you've mentioned.

Might end up being Houston to the Dogs for whatever they get for Bailey Smith

What an embarrassing moment for Dan, to go on radio and lie is just poor taste
He did the right thing by the club at the time. If he said he was leaving, it would have distracted the club from the finals campaign.

Should just ban reporters from asking players questions around their future when they're contracted players.
