I would argue against Geelong we were smashed tactically more than anything.

Sydney played pure footy, we didn’t take early chances and it’s over in click of any eye.

I agree. Whilst I think there is an element in which there were some deficiencies in the team, the tactical inteptness of our club's senior coach was the biggest hindrance of all during the finals.

We've had a good enough list to win a flag in each and every season since 2014. That list hasn't believed it could win a flag since probably the 2015 bye though.

Player ability just doesnt matter in 2025.

I genuinely believe we could go in to next season with the full All Australian squad to choose from and still go out in a prelim with Hinkley explaining that look hes been in footy a long time.

You have to view everything at this club through the lens of where people will be in 2026... or even 2027

While you need a good list, you don’t need the best list to win the flag. You need talent, system and luck with injuries.

We’ve had a talented enough list and been generally healthy (apart from in finals), but our system stinks.

I'm always of the opinion that you can better really good things.
Net negatives are very hard to compensate for in any line of work.
Underlying all of our problems on the field is poor to average tactics and strategies from the coaching box.

I've said it a few times that if we had a very good coach, our list would be good enough to start a dynasty.
The coach is still not getting the most out of the players by a long shot.

It is probably so that 2025 will be a holding pattern of a year.
