It's meant to be a defensive action to protect your own space around the ball for a pick-up or protect your team-mate, not to clear a guy out. The leaving the ground thing truly is just to maximise impact on your opponent

Bumping Technique
Stay low. No hitting opponents head.

Oh no they got this all wrong

Stay low? No, hitting opponents head
Criminally underrated comment here!!!!!

I’d be satisfied with 3-4 but I agree.
That is utter bullshit. In the realms as being half as bad as Gaff.
A bump a split second later is not half as severe as a cowardly king hit.

This should be no more than 1-2 but the rules at the AFL are ****ed and penalise outcome over action.
Martin could punch blokes all the way to a brownlow because he caused no harm. The same punch breaks a wrist and it'd be 1-2 weeks.

That has to have been the worst effort at a tribunal defence since Quinten Lynch said he only hit a bloke because he was clumsy

Severe means 3 minimum and let’s not pretend this is his first offence he’s no Toby Greene but he’s not a cleanskin either. 3-4 is about right

Yeah no less than 3 sounds about right

If the AFL wants to make a statement about concussions, the ban should be longer
