I know it’s a football first website but political parties don’t ‘tank’.

Give me strength….

Well, they didn't seem to be trying....

I think they're comfortable earning a very nice living doing bugger all on the opposition benches. Winning government would require they actually work.

What would you like Victorian taxpayers who aren’t really a fan of him to say?
We all pay taxes. People need to stop whinging about so called inequities in the economy perpetuated by labor and do their best to live within their means.

It’s not labor’s fault we have historically unjust house pricing, minimal wage growth holistically, and reform that constantly supports anyone that feels ripped off because they run a small business and a hard done by because they have to pay above minimum wage.

Not sure how this is relevant to the conversation I was having with Hurley. But thanks for the information.

You mentioned taxes. If you want to have a private conversation with another poster, go ahead. In a public forum anyone can reply.

My post was about the comm games and the inquiry. I called Victorians, Victorian taxpayers. In no way was I intending to have a conversation about taxes, whinge about taxes or inequities. Please stick to the topic if you’re going to reply to me.

Just like how LNP governments have always cooperated with everything….
Anyone else miss the old days of governments being held accountable for their actions as opposed to having their cheerleaders dismiss things with "but but but but the other team."

2 wrongs, 1 right, etc.

Labor and DA aren’t squeaky clean, but it’s pot kettle stuff if you start banging on with ‘but the other team’. Let’s face it, they’re all rusty under the roof, they just have differing persuasions and issues they lean towards.

“The land council has to be consulted on everything and you’ve got to pay for that consultation,” said Cr Meyer. “We don’t know [how much it will cost]. They might say it’s 20 bucks an hour, they might say it’s 1000 bucks an hour. We don’t know.”

If true, do the councillors, assistants, advisers all work for free?
I thought the point is there’s no set rate or expected length of work required (ie lack of transparency). I think local councillor salaries are on public record (shady business dealings aren’t though)

How so? I don't recall pointing to the other side when discussing any government.

I've voted Labor in the last few elections because I believe they are better than the Libs. If I start giving them passes on anything because "the Libs did it too" then why the **** did I vote them in?

True.
They are both stuffed, and if you hold one to a standard, you must hold the others.

Lots of people give their guys a free kick on bad behaviour and failure, purely on the confirmation bias of their last vote.

Maybe they can get PWC to consult :)

Sounds like a valid concern. But also sounds like something that can be solved.

Luckily for me i was o/s last election and did not have to vote for any of the scumbags, and continue to dislike them all equally, as i do.

Especially when one party has been in power for 20 of the last 24 years and yet they still want to blame the government last century for everything…

Agreed!

It's not hard to lose the envelope that the feasibility study was done on.
But, but but, "we have to wait for the inquiry findings to be delivered before jumping on the hype train". You know, just like with the much anticipated HQ Inquiry in 2021. How many times did Dan tell us there was no point speculating beforehand as all would be revealed in the Inquiry.

As Dan and the Minister for the Fyre Festival are unlikely to give evidence at the Upper House Inquiry into the Comm Games it's fair to say this will be a lame duck too.

Not simply make up stories to get mad at. Which has been a constant feature of these threads, seeing as the conspiracies have never materialised, nor the impending disasters of crime waves, economic collapse, massive corruption, Chinese takeover of Victoria, electoral annihilation or stupid stuff like stair gate and his wife's car accident.

Absolute landslide?

They got 36.66% of the vote, a drop of 6.2%, against an opposition so insipid you have to assume they were tanking.
That's an incredibly selective reading of an increased majority.

It's just delusion all the way down. Which is why his opponents and detractors who are absurdly out of touch with the Victorian electorate keep being wrong.
