Dan unwittingly created a monster that is now wreaking havoc on our state - John Setka and the CFMEU. The CFMEU owns the Big Build. The CFMEU is now looking to muscle its way into other industrieS. The blatant threat against the AFL just shows how brazen Setka has become.

Sly of the Underworld asked the question whether making blatant threats against the former commissioner of the ABCC is contempt of court, equivalent to threatening a former judge over a decision.
EDIT: Dan and Albo unwittingly created the CFMEU monster. Albo for abolishing the only watchdog willing to challenge the union.

As you sow so you shall reap...

Absolutely the response was not perfect.

But having a crack at Dan Andrews because of Hotel quarantine failures but excusing Gladys Berejiklian for not insisting chauffeurs wear masks (this was the source of the 2nd major lockdown) is the hypocrisy of this whole thing that is maddening.

Everyone made mistakes. And it only took one mistake to create a big problem.
Was that the one where they let the ship dock in sydney harbour or the one where they let the infected fed-ex crew through sydney airport ?..

The CFMEU may be the only organisation strong enough to effectively stop the pouring of taxpayer money into GHMBA Stadium.
The Geelong Football Club is one of 2 Australian Football foundation clubs, therefore Kardinia Park and its facilities deserve the same on-going treatment and maintenance (i.e. gold standard) that the MCG gets due to its historical importance to Victoria and the game of Australian Rules Football, a uniquely Australian sport that is deeply embedded among a large portion of the community deeming any 'artefact' connected to it to be of great significance and importance to Victoria from that perspective as well. Supporters of other clubs bitter and jealous about it just have to learn to accept this fact and suck it up if they don't like it.

A better way to spend taxpayer money would be to fund a sense of humour for you.

There’s a ‘send dans gong back’ petition somewhere. Let’s see how many care enough to join
You sound like someone's grandmother on Facebook :)

It really is just more proof that the Liberals do not have their eyes on the game.

Endless whining is not an alternative government.
Show me the petition? Petoo rambles on about it and you treat it as gospel?

Which one? There's three created in the last few days.

Ben Carroll when asked yesterday whether he supported Jacinta Allen’s refusal to condemn Setka’s threat against the AFL & Steve McBurney responded he wasn’t fully across what Setka said but he defended the union’s right to represent its members interests.

Hard to believe Carroll wasn’t across what Setka said, but now clear as daylight the government endorses what Setka said.

This state is ****ed!

I'm baffled as to why in Australia we're been held to ransom by what are essentially low skilled workers that are paid like highly educated white collar professionals.

Let them go on strike and bring in equivalent workers from the developing countries like the Phillippines, India, Mexico, etc.. like the the yansk and Arabs do to prop up the same industries.

Just utter insanity that so many of these union workes are beign paid over $100,000 for merely holidng lollipops for a few hours a day, it is sheer madness.

They're cocky uppity bastards to boot, whenever I've encountered on the road they strut around with not a care in the world as if they've got all the time in the world to complete whatever it is that they're doing.

Good luck with that

I know that Vic Labor is in bed with these Unions because of the tens of thousands of votes they are assured from them at the ballot box at elections but this is becoming ridiculous. They're pretty much running the joint now with all the power and influence they have over that political party. I don't know how long that is feasible and eventually something has to give.

Why? The ALP is the political wing of the union movement. The CFMEU remains an incredibly effective advocate for their membership. Mr Setka is not here to <redacted> spiders. If you want to take him on, you need to adopt the attitude of (metaphorically) killing him just to watch him die. Chances are, he is willing to go further than those who oppose him.

This is in no way me endorsing his tactics, but they work.
