What a hereo. Like leo Barry was with his pack mark in last years grand final, Chick changed the game around. Put his body on the line to smother the kick from O keefe in the dying stage sof the game, which ended a goal to Hunter. Absolute hereo. WC supporters you should thank Chick for doing what he did.

A lot of the time this guy is over rated i reckon. Sure, Chick's one percenter's are great but enough is enough. He made a smother, it's not a huge deal, there were 3-4 who were involved in that smother and gather that led to the Hunter goal.

Quite a thug too, that hit on Malcheski in the qualifying final should've brought on a 1-2 match suspension in my opinion. Was late and far too heavy for Australian Rules Football.

Chick was the only one who smothered that kick. He then followed up the ball, handballed it to Hunter AND laid a shepherd. Overrated? pfft

That bit of play won them the game I reckon.

Yep, like the cliche goes, we needed someone to stand up otherwise we were as good as done. Chicky did.

Selfless player that did similar thankless, greasemonkey work in the 2nd half of the QF to get us back into it. Out and out champion and an insult to call him overrated.

He had a hand in the goal before that too.

And directly in a couple in the 1st qtr.

Held Micky O who was in good form after being beaten by him last GF.

In contrast apart form Judds goal did he hit a target at all ?

Must have been injured or playing as decoy.

You need an old hand like chicky when you have young forwards around. He was vital for us in 1999-2001

Yep. 4 of the WC Players decided to ptua finger in each, so that they could share the smother, then the SAME 4 players ran, and all partially picked up the ball which led to the Hunter goal.
And no...Chick had nothing to do with it you panzies, the person that looked like chick was an optical illusion caused by the light.

Chick is in fact a thug, He was planning on hitting malcheski and well, its the Tribunals fault Sydney didn't win. BECAUSE, Had chick been suspended for 3 weeks (AS JASIANO THINKS) Then Chick AND THE 3 OTHER PLAYERS, would not of been able to make that smother, run on, make a shepard, and then Hunter would never have kicked a goal. Leading in Sydney winning by 5 points.

I say we blame the Tribunal....:D :D

did you actually watch the game? it was all chick that smother, and it was his hard running and strength that helped him get to the ball, then feed it to hunter and shepherd him so hunter could get the goal... it was a brilliant passage of play

this post indicates that you are a pillow biter...

please confirm

What a bloody legend. He is tough at the ball, never gives up, very unselfish, and all those qualities showed in this 10 second play. He didn't give up on the ball, he smothered it, then unselfishly handballed it to a team-mate, then put on a tough sheperd.

Had a blinder- did the little things right, such as that smoother at the end. I thought at one stage O'Loughlin was going to carve him up but he had a great game. Would have been close for the NS

His smother , tap , handball and sheperd which resulted in Hunter kicking a goal MUST be shown to kids for years so they can learn how to do the 1% at speed and how to execute it perfectly .It was the best 1% for the year for me .It was in the Grand Final and it was at a crucial time of the game and it was the decider .Amazing play .:thumbsu:

It was more than a smother. It was a tackle, a smother, a gather, a handball, and a shepherd in the one passage of play.

What he said. Add to that the bump which caused Ted Richards to kick it on the full instead of into the 50 with 2 mins to go aswell in great pieces of play

Ah I still remember the year he came to West Coast, at the same time a certain Des Headland wanted to come back to WA and there was some debate over which one the Eagles or Dockers should go for. I remember thinking then, please don't let the Eagles go for that GFN Headland hack. Chick is a champion and West Coast of course made the right decision.

without doubt, even though headland has more years left in him - what chicky has brought to the club in terms of leadership and courage is irreplaceable - guys like waters, hurn, brett jones etc will have learned so much from him already, and very second he stays with the club will be awesome for those younger blokes
