Injuries have been very frustrating. His best is brilliant.

He hasn't really been tried up forward much.. I remember one game where he was resting there (vs Pies I think?) and he took a screamer at the top of the square.

Any chance we can protect him a little sitting him up forward occasionally? He can snap a goal as good as anyone, and his hands to space/advantage are in my opinion the best around. Scooter was all over Ablett on the weekend.. so they pushed him forward where there was no matchup and he got 4 goals (1 at most might have been on Scooter).

Wouldn't mind seeing us try something similar, but I would of course enjoy 20 games in 2011 with an average of 22-27 disposals mainly in the midfield.

Agree Kerr's best was just about as good as it comes. IIIRC in the 05 GF, Kerr being injured for some of the game (ankle wasn't it?) probably cost you the game. Whenever he was on, you looked the better team.. then he'd go off and you'd fall away a bit.

Absolute gun on his day. Pity we don't get to see it anymore.

Invincible..? might be taking it a bit far..Ironman is invincible? (;

when kerr does his trademark "break lines run+carry, dodge+weave, chew up 50m,then hit someone on the chest" play - maybe one out of three attempts work, the others he runs out of puffnstuff (those little bulldog legs),or he gets nailed.
But there arent many like him in the comp, that take on the game in that way..and he's more often than not being a team player, doing valuable assists a la judd days..

cant see why he wont have the fitness and the smarts to perform as before..may take half a season to warm up (injuries allowing)..

but god,he used to get tag-hammered consistently..no different to ablett+judd i guess..

he'll certainly be a welcome change to the midfield dynamics, and push a hack out hopefully..arent we looking for a gun forward pressure type? theres talk of him heading that way eventually.

This is what frustrated me about Kerr in the last couple of years. With our post-Judd midfield, he attracts too much attention to be able to get away with trying to carry the ball. Watch how Cousins has played for Richmond. He uses his ability to read the play and clean skills to take possession in a congested area, draws one or two defenders, then releases a team mate into space with a beautifully-weighted handball. I'd like to see Kerr do the same more often. His handball used to be his trademark.

Might be time to pull him out of the midfield and slot him into a forward pocket.

Well, Woosh can't be faulted when it comes to his judgement when putting midfielders into the forward line.

Kerr on song is a great player. But I find it infuriating how much he's got himself suspended. He needs to grow up and learn to cope with the attention he gets, because the club has needed him, and he's been sitting on the sidelines painting his nails because he's earned a few weeks from the MRP. Great player, but not a smart player.

Disagree. He should only go forward when resting. His best will still be far more damaging than our current midfield.

However it's overdue to put Pridda on the half forward flank and turn him into RoJo.

Mr Shuey into the middle

I cant see him returning to anywhere near his best form at all.

He'll be back to top form soon :thumbsu:

I think if he gets over his injury then at best he will be able to help out the younger guys for patches... Hopefully he doesn't teach them how to headbutt or elbow guys... Past his best IMO but can still be handy.

Dont mind him out of a forward pocket - maybe freeing up Lecca/Masten for longer periods.

But again its all up to him, his body and his mindset during games.

Not even close to the best in the league.

Has probably 5 good minutes a match (when he actually plays)

Not a good leader.

you may be right, his moments of brilliance are better than abletts or swans 40 tocuhes a game though :thumbsu:

From what I was told he could have actually played the last 2 games of the season if needed, But WCE officials decided it would be a waste of time and that he can come back into the preseason at full fitness and tear it up again.

Kerr and Shuey in the midfield together will be sublime to watch.

Masten will improve with out the extra responsibility as will Ebert and Swift.
Houlihan should play nearly every game next year, Considering Rosa may be leaving.
Stevens will get 5 or 6 more games under his belt as well.

We could have a very potant midfield next year if these players above stay fit for 22 games.

If I was hoping for injuries next year (cause we know we will get them) I would say that if Priddis, A.Selwood, McGinnity and Embley were injured parties we would be 100% fine still.
Kerr and Shuey need to be fit next year or we may collect our 2nd wooden spoon.

You're kidding??

They may be better to watch on a highlight reel but I'd rather 40 touches from those 2 any day...

If he is still around when we have developed the kids in the middle a bit more then he will become more damaging, until then Im happy if he is servicable..

yeah i am kidding. But i disagree that he just has moments in games where he dominates. Like you said, when the kids develop and provide kerr with a bit of space he will get back to having high possession games.

I heard he played with broken bones in his foot. Need verification though.
