Nice but illogical sentiment.Wonder how he is feeling missing two premierships. Poor bugger.

Not really sure my comment lacks rationale. He has been so close, but so far. The bloke must feel a bit ripped at this point.
Without McStay the giants win the 2023 prelim. Who knows what a gws vs Brisbane grand final looks like.My point is pure logic although definitely a bit cheeky. I get your point.
If he had stayed at Brisbane he wouldn’t have missed the Collingwood premiership because he wouldn’t be at Collingwood .
So he only missed one.
Perhaps he missed one on two seperate occasions , but he only missed one
Maybe, maybe not.Without McStay the giants win the 2023 prelim. Who knows what a gws vs Brisbane grand final looks like.
Lots of blokes who can kick a goal - I doubt any of them kick big numbers but collectively we've got some firepower: Hill, Elliott, Membrey, Schultz, McStay, Mihocek and yeah I think Nick as well as Jordy are capable of adding 20 or thereabouts from the midfield.30 goals would be sensational for McStay. I would be happy wiith 20-25 and a full season. Mihochek and Membrey to be the 30+ guys, that would be a flag winning mix especially if ND keeps.goimg up and can become a 20+ also. Lot of other avenues also
3 or 4 guys kicking 30 would be ideal. Carlton having a big forward that kicks 70 in the H&A season and then decides that’s enough for the year means superstars like Matt Owies and Jesse Motlop are their power forwards in September. I reckon Sydney became way too Buddy centric at times too which became predictable. Checkers being Checkers, McStay the marking target, Shultz and Billy the medium lead up targets, Bobby and Beau cleaning up the scraps. Dan and Nick asking the forwards if they prefer laces in it out when delivered. Oops, January sycophant stiffy activated30 goals would be sensational for McStay. Multiple avenues to goal so if your Coleman medalist is hiding behind the goal umpire you don’t end up 0-60 down and look like knobsYep, it's all the different ways we've got to score - we'll be hard to defend because we 've got the players to score from a lot of different forward entries.
Yeah, those numbers from those three players would be massive.I can see both Checkers and McStay bagging 40 goals each for us next year (pending fitness and availability of course), especially if Mason plays the majority of games as that second ruck, meaning neither (especially Dan) are not required to spend periods out of position.
It comes out at about 2 goals a game which I think is realistic from these guys - especially given the quality of ball users in midfield and us seemingly looking to get back to that more attacking game style. I also hope we see Elliott back over 30 goals this year, on his day he is still one of the hardest small/medium forwards to defend in the comp but that will obviously be pending on his body holding up for enough games.

McStay is so important for us, and we just haven't had a good run with him at all since he started. I know we won't (and probably shouldn't) but I'd be inclined at this point to pull him out of all contested work on the track now and just run him for the rest of the pre-season until the first practice match. Substitute the remaining contested time for running 200-300m repeats to avoid a collision type injury AND to even gain a fraction more fitness before the season starts.
I know they definitely won't though.
