I love Daniel Rioli and would hate to lose him also but if Baker is going then i would accept we are going deep onto rebuild and it would be a 3-4 year process.
Dimma would give a flying F what was paid to get Rioli as he doesnt need any more talent on the list thats young as he has more than enough for the next 10 years with the list where its at currently and is only interested in the 2-3 academy kids they have coming into the club this year as well as the ones last year so giving up 10 & 11 would be no issue and they would even give up 20 as well provided they have enough points for the academy kids.
Adam Saad was a Kmart version of Rioli with a checkered past of wanting to move and went for #8 + 3rd rounder
Daniel Rioli is a known Gun in his position and 3 x premiership player with foward ability and proven finals performer

You guys read too much into things sometimes. Cotchin was asked if Gold Coast would be a good fit for Daniel, he said of course he would and said he was tight with Dimma but at the end said he doubts Rioli would leave Richmond.
Baker on the other hand I reckon is gone. Cotchin hinted a massive offer and doubted one of Dusty or Baker both being at Richmond next year.

No i didn't. I said i wanted him to play forward again once his confidence was back up, as it was better for team balance

I also said he isn't an AA HBF, and he hasn't been. Although i do concede i am very likely wrong with that, as if he goes to the Gold Coast and becomes part of their first serious team under Dimma, he will get more than a few AA spots. He stays with us he is very likely to never get 1.

I do agree though with Rioli contracted i would not accept anything less than something like 10 + 22 etc. He is worth a lot more to the Suns than us, he would propel them into a real team with real chops, especially if Dusty joins them. Rowell, King, Anderson etc
Its kinda weird if you ask me. Dusty went up to GC for a "holiday" in Jan. Dan now. Lots of "lil holidays" to the Gold Coast. Kinda like how Baker brought a house in Perth.

never said it was a crime against humanity. But as a leader his selfish actions totally ****ed this club. saw it & i called it in real time for 3 years & we are now worse than i feared. Hopper & Taranto -wtf. Club was a golden goose 2019-20. We should in no way be in this situation right now.
I get martial situations can change, and its common. Stories like yours really suck and its just human life experiences. But he was the leader. He had the marketing girl in a work sanction hub basically "with him" while his married, much adored (which the club endorsed, clearly) & much used by himself to endorse his "brotherhood/family" ethos made me, personally, think he was a total fraud of a bloke. Narcissist perhaps. Once i saw that side i can't unsee it. I genuinely dislike him as a bloke & the flags were great - but i actually said this after 2019 GF - its not the flags i loved most about that win, its the amazing club we built on decades of shit due to poor culture, in-fighting, ego's, ego's ego's.
As soon as the Rance thing happened, the club changed a bit. By the end of 2020, it was completely over that culture. It peaked in 2019. Club lost its ethos i feel & that generally happens when the group lose faith/trust in the message or messenger.

Why should i bother , Every single poster on this board knows the sh!t you were posting about Rioli and you were grilled about it for nearly 2 years .

Rioli doesn't seem the type to chase success, he's already tasted it 3 times and he seems quite loyal.
However, if he does request a trade then I wouldn't be asking for draft picks necessarily. I'd be submitting this list of players and saying that one of them is the cost:
Noah Anderson
Matt Rowell
Sam Flanders
Bailey Humphrey
Ben King
We need quality proven talent to replace quality proven talent that moves on. Preferably younger talent that can be part of our long term future/success.

if i was list manager and gc came to me and said hey buddy how ya doin we really want damn rioli, well give you matt rowell and bent king i would seriously consider it and say how bout you maybe throw in a little sweetener, how bout you throw in noah anderson? and if they said yes my word it'd give it genuine consideration.

I know this is out of order, but Baker for me other than a great team man is tradeable. We would get a very good deal for him.
He doesn't really have a place in the side that he is so much better than others at. He is not a midfielder, but can go through there. He is not really a small forward, does well enough there but nowhere near the top level small forwards. He is a good half back, but we have plenty of them and is a bit of a liability when the high ball comes in, which sides have done when they fancy the match up.
He is a great all round player and best 22 any day, but where's his best position.
