Was his first game, but was very surprised the late inclusion played more than expected.

Good to see him get a run, deserved it more than anyone, but I am not sure if it was stage fright or not, but he just was not good enough. These impressions shouldn't be warranted, but this is what this thread is for. Needs to be tougher, lacked what was needed.

Also was too quick to respond to umpires calls making school boy errors by just feeding the ball out if the umpire tells him to, straight to the opposition. Will learn from experience because of nerves as well.

Needs to have a little more development at Willi, didn't play too much of a part last year.

All in all, he will only improve, and may be a regular in years to come. Don't think I am judging him too harsh, it is just what I thought.

I have pretty high regards for Nicko, he lives with my boy and is a decent kid, but I thought some of the undisciplined things he did tonight did him no favours for selection next week. Unfortunately, I have seem him do the same thing at Willy where he gets over zealous and gives aways silly frees, often in the forward line where it can cost goals. Having said that, the kid has a heart as big as Texas, will run all day and never gives up. Yep, it was a shocker, but he'll learn from it.

Hate to say this because he is such a warrior... but Licca's pace is becoming a liability, he's still the accumulator but there are troubling signs

One of the worst debuts I have ever seen

I thought when he was around the pill he was hard at it, and his intensity was great. He's stats didn't show a lot, but not every player has a dream debut. He will be better for the run.

Iles should be playing. Must be one Micks little bum buddies. Saying that he would give Richards a run for his money in the ruck.

totally agree licca is running on the spot and coupled with his ball butchery i don't see a future. nicholls is to slow for a bloke his size he needs more zip like a brent harvey never been a wrap for that fact

His game was so bad that I simply can't regard it when thinking about Nicholls potential quality as a player.

I don't think I've ever seen a player in B&W have that much of a shocker.

I'll wait and see him play another game before I proclaim him anything.

His night panned out as I expected and was along the same lines of his showing against North in the NAB Cup.

Bemusing why he was promoted, presumably they wanted to give him a chance before going through with the delistment at the end of the year.

At that size you have to have something really special like game breaking speed or sublime skills, I didn't see anything

From an assumption to a fact, Nicholls played 59% of the game...WHY?

He was a late inclusion, he didn't play Lonie's expected role, so why, why, why. Nicholls had 3 touches in around 75 mins of football, for an inside midfielder that is pretty ordinary, but then...Nicholls gave away 4 free kicks which were ridiculous, and then, he had 6 clangers for the night (incl. 4 FA)

The question is simply, what did we see in him to keep him on for so long?

I really don't know why he was played either. Surely losing Lonie would have warranted the promotion of Toovey, who I presume was also in Perth.

Baptising a young mid who had a crap start to his televised career in the NAB Cup, against the best midfield going around, is incredibly poor management.

He needed this game. Many time's he'd do something silly just because of the pressure because in his head he's probably thinking "i've got to do SOMETHING" whether it be obviously kick it to the boundary or just blindly hand pass it away and cross the fingers.

These are all things that he will take away from this game when he see's the replay. Next time might be a little better but all up his committment was good all he needs to remember is its better to get done by the umpires *maybe* than it is to blindly put the ball somewhere.
Grace under pressure he needs but you learn that at AFL level not VFL level.
