Are you watching the games? Our delivery to him has been awful for extended patches.
Yes it has been I agree. It wasn't great yesterday either. But our forwards being mobile makes it work.

Melbourne game both Tex and Fog got sucked into wrestling for most of the game. Allowing Lever and May to mop up all the terrible i50s.

Things changed once our forwards got more mobile.

Our I50 delivery hasn't improved. Our forward play to compensate for it has improved.

Next step, better forward delivery.

There is just a sizable difference between his good games and his bad games. This is reflected in his possessions, goals, goal assists, marks, marks inside 50, free kicks for, free kicks against.

When he is off - he doesn't create separation, he wrestles a lot more, gives away a lot more frees and is a lot more unproductive.

Its just there are a lot excuses for his form. And they just don't make sense. He performed against Gold Coast when our inside 50's were poor. He performed fantastically well when tex was the focus kicking 7 last week.

In the one game without tex he got completely blanketed. Our other forwards form has been fairly consistent within reason (Ranks, Peds, McAdam, etc). FOG is just up and down.

You're just posting bare assertions that were already debunked.

We don't need to re-argue the 'consistency' of the other forwards, its already in this thread. You were wrong.

We don't need to re-argue whether our ball use deteriorated. It's already in the this thread. You were wrong.

He's absolutely on his bike more, and it's good.

Do we think that's by instruction? Has McAdam changed the mix?

For what it's worth, I absolutely reconsider positions if research reveals something I hadn't considered.

Fogarty produced top three output last year during a stretch when he was only the 20th most targeted forward. The evidence bears that out. I had not known those numbers previously.

It changed the level of concern that I held. That's not sustainable, but it's also not very concerning if its not sustained.

I reckon he had some groin soreness and that has improved.

McAdam in the mix probably helps too.

I would hope there is no instruction to engage in wrestling more than leading/moving to meet the ball.

Especially with our midfield.

If people want to have a laugh, go have a read back for the entire last year of the thread.

Old mate spent half of last year ridiculing the idea that confidence played any part in Fogarty's arrival, instead arguing that he had gotten fit and stopped being lazy. This was because he didn't want to admit that he had been wrong to support his constant dropping.

He maintained this ridicule even through Fogarty himself saying gaining confidence through being backed in helped.

Now it's the only thought he has.

It's one thing to have been consistently wrong on an issue for years upon years on end. It's another to be so salty about it that you calibrate your positions based upon opposing what people are saying on the topic at any given time because you somehow think it will regain you face.

I have never seen someone defend a single player so much.

Whats your link to him. Its borderline burner account territory.

In your mind the weird thing is to support the objectively good young key forward, not to obsessively post attacks on him?

Why did you want him dropped? You have so many contradictions it's laughable.

You still haven't answered why you wanted him dropped if its everyone else's fault why he was struggling. I was saying its in his head and he needs to work through it (which he did).

My comments on Fog have been consistent with his performance. I place the credit and blame on FOG for his up and down form for the past 2 years.

You on the other hand are happy to give all the credit to FOG when he succeeds, but when his form dips its the focus on tex/poor inside 50 entries/the position of the moon / good defenders / injuries / 50 other excuses.

What I don't get is why you post stuff like this:

It would be easier on their dignity if they just created a support group for sooks who hold long grudges after losing internet arguments.

And then a few (deleted) posts later tell people they should meet you in real life.

I tried to respond to your Alpha Male posts, but the mods since deleted it (no idea why).

If Fog had played badly the last few weeks that would have proven his critics right. By playing well that also proves his critics right.

And by playing well he's only damned himself by proving that he was capable of playing better than he has in the past.

I was thinking about Fog and Tilly’s performance this year and wonder if Tex’s brilliant form is actually holding back their development. Due to Tex form, he has demanded the ball and be the main target every time we go forward. We love Tex so much but is it a hindrance on the other two.

I think Fog will absolutely enjoy and dominate once Tex is gone and he becomes the main man. Looking at Hagan for the bulldogs, he is playing as the man out of the square and looking good. I hope both will turn into stars once Tex retires

If Fog had played well the last few weeks that would have proven his supporters right!!! But if he played poorly - that would have validated all of the excuses!

Am I doing it right?

Vader thinks you're doing great

I think you post on here for the cheap likes.
I think you've gone too deep down this particular rabbit hole and don't know how to extricate yourself gracefully

You've now settled on him needing to bridge the gap between his best and his worst. Okay. So... he's like almost every sportsperson who's ever lived.

Disagree.

I am happy to give him plaudits when he performs well. Happy to acknowledge his poor form when he doesn't perform well.

This thread and your mates are gleefully saying "I am right" when he performs, but quick to blame Walker, better defenders, and inside 50 entries when he doesn't perform.

It's the same as your arguments against assistant coaches. You were quick to blame Clarke for multiple years, but disappeared when Jacobs become an AA. Its the low hanging fruit for you.

Outside of the champions, consistent forward is an oxymoron

You still running with Jacobs AA I see. And regardless, we had to find Doc a guy someone else had developed for him, ripped apart a final then lobbed on his doorstep to replace Doc's entire crew

It's how every single team sport in the world works

No one gets their average each week of the season.

What sports are you watching????

Superstars are superstars.

You have mentioned multiple times that Fog can't be expected to perform like Tex.

Fog is hot and cold. And its all to do with his performance.
