Was unlucky not to have a few more too, a couple of unlucky overkicks to him when he had gotten a paddock on the lead inside 50.

This is the sort of game we need from him more often- get on the bike and into the game and use that elite field kick he shows every now and then.

It gets missed by a lot here but even when not marking he’s bringing the ball to ground for our small guys or winning it himself with a sharp handball to a teammate.
A lot like Tex is he’s good either side of his body.

I expect a lot from Fog. But he's having a better year than Todd Marshall.
If he gets 2.5 goals per game in the last 4 matches which is possible although slightly difficult he'll end with 40 goals for the year.

I think if we asked Crows supporters what would be par for him this year I think that's what we would have said.
From memory he's also missed a couple of goals at least also.

Do people still think Fogarty is carrying a knee injury 😂 or suffering from poor delivery ? 😆

Just a sensational performance by him , I just think we will get more of these games as he continues to mature mentally

He looked a lot fitter in today's game than he has for a while. I was thinking during the match he was running smoothly and not favoring one leg like he had previously.

He's probably lost like 4-5 goals to shit delivery the last two weeks

Pretty safe to say its a confidence / mental thing with the FOG. Last two weeks his work rate has been fantastic.

I think he will have a knee clean at seasons end. It's hard to suggest delivery has improved when he had to go get it (which is another improvement).

To be honest I wasn't worried about his form, his 'bad' games are now what he used to produce as a good game.

Ripping game though ...I wonder if he could play midfield 🙊

Now that he can move freely the "poor delivery" issues have evaporated.

Interesting. I am no Doctor, so would love to hear what makes you say this? Had the injury in week 2. Had 2 weeks off and came back and dominated for 2 weeks before his form regressed. Had the knee strapped from week 5 - week 9 and then hasn't had it strapped since.

The way he has moved the past two weeks suggests that he is at 100%.

There was a moment at the end of the Hawks game where he seemed to re-injure it. He lands awkwardly. That was also when the form fell off.

Someone in a different thread pointed out that his role might have changed somewhat with McAdam back into the team, freeing him up to go further up the ground more often. I'm not sure whether that's right or not, but it's at least interesting.

Same too the fact that we are too Tex focused. Who would have thought 2 key forwards can co-exist?!!??!

If we target both, they can. If we don't they won't.

If he doesn't sustain the current form for all time, which is incredibly likely as the second tall, you'll be right back to abusing him online.

I'm no doctor either, just an observation.

The knee injury he did and how it was managed. The lack of strapping doesn't = fine.

Again I don't share the 'out of form' narrative, his numbers were down, but his work rate was still fine.

But they don't usually.

It's normally 1 gets a lot and the other doesn't. You have two so when 1 is down the other hopefully is up.

So you truly believe that the major determinant for Fogs form is whether we (as a team) decide to target him?

I haven't been abusing him at all. In fact I was the one that said we needed to keep him in the side when you wanted him dropped....

To be honest not sure why you would want to drop a guy when the only reason he has ever played bad is because of his team mates!!!

Yeah thats not how it works at AFL, at all.

There is plenty of room for a key forward to play well when there is another dominant forward. Darcy played really well against the Power when Walker kicked 7. They both played very well against Carlton, Hawthorn, Gold Coast X 2, Kangas, Power.

Look at all the good teams - Geelong (Hawkins/Cameron), Richmond (Lynch/Riewoldt) 2017 Crows - Walker/Betts/Jenkins. There is always room for a 2nd target.

There is plenty of opportunity and Fog succeeds when his head is in the game. The excuses have all been debunked.

Its time to acknowledge (just like FOG did) that its his psychologist that turned around his 2022. We need to get that man/women onto payroll.

And how many times have both kicked bags or dominated at the same time ?

There is always room for a 2nd target... but as you point out, they are the 2nd target

You can still try just as hard and still be out of form / not performing.

Look at Murphy - his effort hasn't wavered in 2023.

I'm not arguing he hasn't played a bad game over the season, I mean WB springs to mind , but I don't think form has been an issue.

I mean is his St kilda game bad because he only had it 8 times or good because he kicked 2 goals (Walker 10 and 5) ? What about Geelong got it 8 times for no goals ? Bad ? Walker only got it 7...but kicked 5.

Hard to compare Murphy, I like the guy, I don't think form is as much as an issue as being put in a position his skill set doesn't match. But that's me.

There is just a sizable difference between his good games and his bad games. This is reflected in his possessions, goals, goal assists, marks, marks inside 50, free kicks for, free kicks against.

When he is off - he doesn't create separation, he wrestles a lot more, gives away a lot more frees and is a lot more unproductive.

Its just there are a lot excuses for his form. And they just don't make sense. He performed against Gold Coast when our inside 50's were poor. He performed fantastically well when tex was the focus kicking 7 last week.

In the one game without tex he got completely blanketed. Our other forwards form has been fairly consistent within reason (Ranks, Peds, McAdam, etc). FOG is just up and down.

Yeah we will have to disagree.

Murphy is an SANFL quality footballer.
