To be honest I just don’t know if Darcy will ever get a good run at it injury wise, he seems suspect to hamstring injuries and I think if we can get a first rounder for him we should take it and run. Just my opinion and I really want Darcy to succeed but I just don’t know if he will get a good run at it without injuries.
If Moore is INDEED Sydney bound, I assume it will take their first round pick.
We use that first pick on Stephen May (with steak knives ie Smith or Oxley).
We get Lynch as a free agent.
We use our first two picks on Quaynor and Kelly.
Great outcome, I would’ve thought!

Thought he was playing really well up until he went off
Really?
A fat Lance Franklin with a fukced foot had blitzed him with 3 goals within the first quarter.
Darcy was giving him lots of leg rope.
I think the athleticism and the flashy blonde hair make him LOOK good. As a defender, he’s shit.

How does a professional afl player pull a hamstring while handballing? It's not meant to be a dig at Darcy, but for his sake and the clubs he shouldn't be considered for selection again until they investigate and figure out whats causing this
No surprise really.
He did his hamstring two weeks ago warming up.
I'll say it again. It's not his fault he is make of tissue paper but unfortunately he is.
The guy is a liability.
Ask him though and he will tell you that he deserves to be one of the best payed players at the club.

I think any chances of his next contract being a big one are pretty slim at the moment, unless it's with someone else. Its fair to say that if he just played an average game last night, we probably win. I feel for him and really hope we can keep him but the terms need to suit us now

It's pucker time for Darcy, if he thinks he deserves the dollars he won't be getting them from us, if he's willing to sign for what he's worth i'm more than happy to keep him.
PRobably will be an unreliable list clogger with his soft tissue injuries, but we don't know for sure> I can't help wondering if some players can't take the full training liad and need to be given less arduous training because it over stresses their muscles, and less physically demanding positions.
Eg Elliot another player that it's terrible to be wasted.

Ended up being pretty much a toss up game and we lost the toss. Except Sidey moment suggested a belief issue which lost the game. but Hoskin=elliot's goal kicking shows to me he has great belief.

As much as it’s easy to blame Darcy for being made of glass, I’m more inclined to put the spotlight on our strength and conditioning staff. We’ve had how many hamstring injuries this year now? And some are guys who’ve never had soft tissue issues. So far we’ve had Adams, Varcoe, Smith, Elliott, Moore, Appleby and JDG all miss significant time due to hamstring issues. Honestly, our fitness program needs a major overhaul, and it’s really astonishing that this was only half addressed last year with Davorens departure. Having his underling take over was really an average effort on the club’s behalf.
Might be pushing some players too hard whose bodies can't take it.

Well we'll limp into the finals, and pretty much be making up the numbers minus Treloar,JDG,Moore,Elliot,Shaz,Dunn,Aish , Wells the list goes on....
We should have Aish, treloar and JDG back and maybe Reid, and that's a huge addition. And would like to see if FAz has imporoved his game. V hard to tell with 2's.

More likely a 2nd or 3rd rounder, then his injury woes will suddnely disappear

Mate I copped it hard a couple of weeks ago on this issue
I stand tonight vindicated

You were the only one to support my post
He's a liability
Becoming physco sematic to me

TOO MUCH AWARENESS

You’re mixing so many things.

If he goes and complains, what then you ask?

Simple. He’s not ours anymore and he can complain and moan till the cows come home. Ultimately who cares, white noise.
Nobody will stop barracking for collingwood because someone is having a big old sook.
Let them sook.

Mercenary you say!
Really? It’s a business. We all decide what we do and for whom, it’s called life.
He’s entitled to look after himself and his loved ones.

Mr Darky if someone offered you $300,000 more a year to barrack for say Sydney or Carlton wouldn’t you take the cashola? 300 large in your pocket?

Simply no

How's it looking this morning still thinking there s no substance in my earlier posts

Funny that

Walsh didn't look happy

I am not sure Darcy Moore would leave the contest just because "he is soft" or that it was "just awareness" because he was able to run off. Anyone that has strained a hammy before (level 1 tear) knows the ping you feel. Why would he stay on until it comes off the bone?

Our sports and conditioning department might be a factor, or the surface of our ground, or the lack of preseason, or all those factors combined. Who knows?

This is terrible for both the player and the club. I agree that we can't possibly offer him a lucrative multi-year deal as things stand. I hope the club manages to find a middle ground with him and gets the right advice about how to fix the guy. We're better with him @ 100%.

From memory Darcy initially did his hamstring in the VFL as a young kid.. and the rest is history.. that's the spark that started an out of control fire.

Some players.. are susceptible to these injuries.. Freeman is another example.

They should be eased into training over a good number of yrs and debut in their 20s.. otherwise we'll never see em out there.

Growing pains mate.. in a very demanding sport.. we should perhaps consider raising the age entry level to 20-21. We're not robbing these guys of yrs.. we may see a lot more players play into their 30s as a result.

This is one sport I will not recommend my kids play judging by what I've seen over the yrs with concussion and a ridiculous amt of injuries in general.

None of those guys will have played at the level in a month, coming into a potential finals campaign.

If it comes at risk of derailing next year I would rather be cautious.
So no for Treloar, maybe for DeGoey but hard to tell what is the real scenario with him.

Howe is a huge boost alone and hopefully Goldsack will provide some experience where it is needed most.

Reid is a risk ala Moore tonight - can we afford to take him into a crunch game only to break down in the second quarter and then be down in rotations with a depleted team?

Fas is a must as we have a few who appear to be tiring up front and he should be ready to go.
Aish also a must in if he comes through this week.

Out with C Brown, can’t afford him and Daicos in together right now.
Mayne our for Aish.

No one can deny the intensity with which Moore competes when he manages to take the field, the recurrence of injuries must be a source of deep frustration. I hope these issues can be corrected at some stage.
