We should have cap space too though, surely. I mean, it's not like we have a team full of overpaid stars is it? You could back-load a contract for when Wells and a couple of others retire.
Would be nice to somehow involve him in a trade that could put us in a frame for pick 1/Shiel

The talked endlessly about them leaving. They just got the destination wrong. It's been so quiet on the gossip front that I reckon he's staying.

I reckon he's staying. Not enough gossip to suggest he's leaving . Contract offer won't go down, but if he can get back on the park and slay them in the finals, it will probably go up. Thus he's better off waiting till the end of the year.

I'm not sure why Moore cops the character test, he's a smart guy, may very well keep a bit to himself, likes reading, so... sounds like a good guy.
And he's a fabulous talent, if... when he's fit.

I dare say if he ripped the finals series apart it would result in a larger offer.
No... Not what I am aware of. Swans stated recently that they were desperate to re-sign Allir Allir, Naismith and Lloyd. Allir Allir signed recently, Naismith signed this week. Lloyd remains outstanding. Was unhappy with the Swans initial offer. Has multiple multi year/$$$ offers from GCS and Melbourne clubs.

I recall Pickering recently complaining about clubs offering contracts heavily based on games played - and Moore sprung to mind straight away -
Maybe this is the problem in that they want extra security in a guaranteed base wage where the club is only prepared to pay the big money if he is on the park.
i really believe that Darcy would love to stay at the club but time in football is limited, his body a concern , and he needs to secure his future in the best way possible. He is gone in my opinion but I would hold no grudges as long as we are adequately compensated. We have enough players on our list with elite ability who can't get their body to hold up.
