I was at the game (first game I've had the opportunity to go in years) an congrats on his 5bag.

Dunno if anyone saw it or it happens all the time but when Moore got his first career goal, Frosty ran all the way from half back to congratulate him, had to run around the centre square and of coarse doggies got the clearance an he had to defend straight away. I love how he goes about his footy

So you have Daniher as probably potentially the best KPF to ever play the Game and will multiple 100+ Goal Seasons and Push Lockett for the All-Time Goal Kicking Record then?

With the nature of the game today few if any forwards will be able to kick 100 goals, with front halves intending to be better balanced, than the previous generation which was key forward centric, and with defences better stopping those key forwards and key defenders bigger and better than in previous generations when you look team to team.

Daniher won't even be the best of this generation of key forwards with Jeremy Cameron the best of the young key forwards. And Jesse Hogan looking pretty great also and probably now that number two guy.

Moore would be successful if he became a top 10 key forward in the game. Best 1-3 for Moore is highly unlikely until he proves otherwise, and not a realistic expectation until then.

Positive from bolded (if/when it next happens) is that Moore strikes me as someone who will learn from it, making him a better player, be it incrementally or with occasional leaps and bounds.

I'm accepting that he will have his ups and downs but it's terrific to see evidence of the potential, especially in a week where Cloke was out. There will be plenty of times in his development when they are playing teams down on experienced defenders and Cloke is playing, allowing Moore to do more damage.

You are right, Moore is someone who has continued to show that he will learn from the games he plays - both in the u18s when he stood up to VFL level for a game, then this year having his two AFL games, going back to the 2s and then back to the ones last week. He has on each occasion shown strong growth after that opportunity to play at the higher grade. So the more you challenge Darcy, the more he thrives, which is pretty unique and really wonderful from a developmental perspective to see, particularly with a young key position player, whereby it's all about development at this early stage.

Whether Moore continues to take advantage of inferior defenders remains to be seen. It's a great sign seeing him show that he can take advantage of them. I expect it will be less that he will take advantage of bad defenders as just have some games that will be better than other games, due more than anything to the inconsistency of early career talls. Cloke will help Moore as he can really draw the ball, whereas that's not so much Moore, who seems to prefer being a second option, and even in his strong performance on the weekend, he wasn't really drawing the ball and seems to prefer more so being a component of the front half rather than taking over the game with a Cloke-like marking or strength superiority.

Well Moore Kicking 5 Goals was very Promising in his 3rd Game. Don’t think any of those Boys done that/

Cameron was good 2 years ago but I think he has gone Backwards a bit since then.

As you said Moore won’t be the number 1 Target for a few years with Cloke still in the Forward Line. Where the others have been the Number 1 Target like the others. So Moore is asked to do less then the others. Moore and Cloke could be a Scary Forward Partners.

Think you are Underestimating his Upside

moore is special.. not only does he have the makings of a great chf ff.. he is actually beautiful to watch in a football sense. everything he did on sunday was actually quite beautiful and very entertaining.. i can see myself in the yrs to come just smiling and laughing in amazement at the shear artistry of this bloke in full flight.

Moore has all the tools.

just the ease at which he does everything.. he just glides.. everything.. his marking kicking running.. h'es amazing. i haven't seen a player like him at collingwood in a while. everything he does is picture postcard stuff.. just beautiful to watch.

how good was him bursting through the guts in the forward line and running into an open goal.. it was like watching a gazel eyeing food through the big sticks and making a dash for it.. peter moore and darcy moore.. thank you for being you.. gifted bas *****

That was his Favourite Goal of the 5

how frightening was his speed.. im thinking they should streamline him.. yeah put on a bit of weight.. but not to the detriment of his speed.. gunstan type body.. long wirey quick and impossible to stop in the air and on foot.

that chase of his in the first qrt.. where it was seemingly impossible for him to catch the bloke.. he ran 100 metres from well inside 50 all the way to the entral wing position and he managed to affect the dogs players kick somewhat and he turned it over.. that was brilliant.. you can see how much he loves being a collingwood player.. he was born and bred to be with us. thanks to peter moore for pulling the leg over.. should have bred more of em moore.. imagine that.. moore to moore to moooooooooooooooooooooooore........ gooooooooooooooal

He is Amazingly Quick for a 200cm Player. That Kind of Run is what Buddy has done a few times.

Club will be well sure not to lose the Speed and Athleticism. Which sets him Apart

Buckley said this week on 360 that they want to see some bulk put on his frame, but not so much that it would be detrimental to his athleticism.

I have little doubt McCartin will turn into a very fine player. He was dropped after just two games and not brought back into the seniors for another 12 or so weeks. I certainly wasn't having a go at your boy, I just brought him up as another recent example of how hard it must be for a young KPF to come into AFL football and make an impact early on.

the name paddy mccartin i can say all day long.. it comes off the tongue nicely.. i just love saying his name.. i think i said it 100+ times the other day out loud with no one around. i think im losing my mind

theres this real sense of selflessness about him.. kinda bloke that would risk it all for the black and white.. add that to his intellect.. another upside to him is how his mind operates. a bright spark on and off the pitch
